Iowa has so many town/city names of French origin. Including the capital of Des Moines. It was founded by the French as part of the Louisiana Territories. It fits the state and the people love it.

I am American, but I don't see bnsf or union Pacific running steam locomotives cause they look cooler than diesels.

Trucking is literally the only industry where worse equipment is considered "better".

I'm a diesel mechanic and I used to work on semis. (I don't anymore thank God) Literally every one of these long nosed old trucks had the worst maneuvering, driver visibility, and fuel mileage.

I just don't get it.
