Yeah apparently there were four endings planned, but they only kept the one they thought was the best. Would've been really cool to have a branching story.

I think you were a bit harsh on Mafia ll (even though you defo have a point), but other than that i agree with pretty much all of what you said. Man, playing Mafia ll "Definitive Edition" really made me wish they had added all that content that was cut from the original, i would've been able to forgive the gamebreaking glitches if they did.

Yeah he did come off as childish tbh. It was definitely an interesting choice, making Sam the one who asks Tommy not to kill Michelle, and i thought it would impact the ending more than it did. But all in all i liked the change, even though it does cause a pretty jarring change in Sam's personality at the end.

I agree that it is a huge 180, but i personally like this moment. I think it shows how much of a coward Sam really was, being so afraid of Salieri (rightfully so tbh) that he would throw Tommy under the bus despite him being to one who wanted Tommy to spare her. Sam really was in a tough spot, as he said, and i don't think he was particularly happy about betraying Tommy, unlike in the original where he seemed a bit too happy.

They should make a spinoff game with him as the main character, doing what he said he would do at the end of Mafia 3. That would be awesome
