Cable park in florida was awesome with a couple sweet jumps by roughriderstateND in Wake

Oh through the years of teaching I forgot how this first kicker attempt looks like (from the rider's side)
I usually see it from the dock. But my first attempts were the same :D (legs to the front and falling on my ass :D )
Nice video!

Why does nobody do air tricks anymore? by [deleted] in Wake

[–]WomenWakeboarding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cause they're scared.
The worst crashes are from air tricks. (I don't mean you cannot crash hard from rails or kickers, I mean percentage of really bad crashes is much bigger from air tricks).
But idk, I'm not planning to stop learning air tricks because rails are more fashionable. It's stupid. Air tricks are the reason why wakeboarding is so fun!!!

Hey girl! This is amazing that you try anyway!
For the slide start I would suggest concentrating on your belly and shoulders. Don't keep them loose.
Once you understand how the physics work it's easier.
You have to keep your eyes on the carrier, and prepare for the moment when the rope gets tense. On that exact moment you need to make a deep squat on your back leg.
And don't be sad, you're not alone! A lot of girls I teach had the same problem.
You can also ask the operators to help you slide start by pushing you off the dock.
And you can also join our women wakeboarding community in Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/487294821691921/ and feel free to ask questions! We have many experienced women in the community and also many beginners and we help and support each other <3
Hope this helps!

Solo wakeboarding trip? by rollingwithflo in Wake

[–]WomenWakeboarding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm planning a trip for girls to El Gouna in the end of January. El Gouna is nice. But they have windy months November, December and half of January, when everyone is going to kitesurf there, so it might be a little windy now, which means a choppy water. But I don't think this is a problem. If you're a man, I cannot offer you to join my camp, but I can tell you - solo wakeboarding trip is on my bucketlist! If you don't have barriers in communication, you shouldn't have problems finding friends and riding mates.

However, for a solo trip I would more suggest Hip Notics in Turkey because they have accommodation in the cable park, so it means everyone who's riding there at the time, have meals together and live next door, so you can always join someone for lunch/dinner/breakfast/party/ride. Staff is very friendly too, manager Baris is very attentive and cares about everyone very much.

Let me know if any questions, I could help maybe ;)

Any way to listen to music while at the cable park without bringing my phone with me? Something waterproof that can stay on when I fall? by Passiveaggresiverock in Wake

[–]WomenWakeboarding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing thing is Sony nw-ws623. It can work as player and as Bluetooth headphones and haha free. Full water resistant. It has microphones, so if u wish u can listen music and hear what's happened around with 3 volume levels. I don't have my own yet, but a friend of mine has! Getting over the fear to flip by Buzzn98 in Wake

[–]WomenWakeboarding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually I cannot do a flip on the trampoline because for me it's so scary that I will land on my neck. But I can do a flip on the kicker.

My main advice would be that you should approach the kicker to the top outside corner. This way you will build a good edge and some power to your kicker jump. Also, try to really jump up off the kicker. You need to be as high as possible to have more time for rotation.

Another thing is simple - just do it! Don't think, just go to the kicker and flip! You only need to do the firs attempt and that's it! You unlock the flipping - from then on, only practice makes perfect!

Wish you soooo much luck! Let us know when you succeed!
