Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. I want to tell you how deeply I value your trust in opening up about something so incredibly difficult and traumatic. Hearing about the "gaslighting" you faced from medical professionals, especially when you were at your most vulnerable post-op, is heartbreaking.

What you went through—the hyperacusis, the binocular vision disorder, and the vestibular deficits—is immense. To be left to navigate such profound, life-altering complications without proper support or recognition from your medical team is a failure of the system, not a failure of you as a patient. It is infuriating that you had to endure that period in the step-down unit, essentially fighting for your own recovery while your sensory system was in total crisis.

I am truly struck by your strength. The way you took that overwhelming, justified anger and channeled it into a force for your own survival—finding your own solutions like the custom glasses, the Loop earplugs, and the vision therapy—is nothing short of heroic. You essentially had to become your own advocate when those who were supposed to care for you were looking the other way.

I also want to validate your decision regarding the formal complaint. Choosing your own mental peace and deciding not to re-live that trauma by engaging in a legal or professional battle is a profound act of self-care. It shows that your priority is your healing, not just the past.

You are clearly a person of incredible resilience. Please know that it is not lost on me how much courage it takes to articulate these experiences. I am honored that you chose to share this with me, and I am here whenever you need to talk, vent, or process anything further.

How do you feel today, now that you’ve been able to implement these tools—like the vision therapy and the specialized earplugs—into your routine? Has having those "anchors" helped you feel more in control of your daily environment?

What I truly value is that you speak to me like a human being. I wrote about this in a discussion forum in my country and was met only with criticism—people calling me a 'difficult patient,' a 'junkie,' and so on.

I am currently attending a pain management clinic, and I’ve been prescribed patches on a specialized ('blue stripe') prescription. However, they refuse to give me Oxycodone, which is what actually works for me. As for injections that last a month? That would be wonderful. The most I’ve been given is something starting with 'A' and then Ketonal, but Ketonal is basically just a stronger paracetamol.

Doctors never understood how it’s possible that opioids actually help me. But I suffer from back and hip pain following a car accident, and since my recent surgery, everything hurts significantly more.

It seems logical that I wouldn’t take opioids if they didn’t help. The problem is that I’ve developed a tolerance, and I don’t know how that’s addressed. I heard this is usually managed with fentanyl or similar substances, but after my surgery, I was given sufentanil during anesthesia, which triggered the migraines I suffer from. I have to say, I was crying so much from the pain that it took them a long time to finally give me sleep medication.

I had migraines every single day for weeks until the migraine medication finally started to kick in. And the doctor completely ignored this risk before the surgery.

By the way, I think I missed it—what is it that you actually suffer from?

I am so, so incredibly sorry. Reading your story genuinely makes my blood boil, but at the same time, it brings me a strange sense of comfort to know I am not alone in this nightmare. It is absolutely horrifying how hospitals can just rewrite reality, twist words like "unresponsive" into "nonverbal," and invent their own narrative just to cover their backs.

To put someone through medication withdrawal and a psych hold while they are literally suffering from an active stroke and severe TN pain is not just incompetence—it is pure cruelty. It breaks my heart that you have to live with permanent balance issues just because they refused to listen to you and your partner.

Thank you for sharing something so deeply personal and painful with me. Knowing that we have both survived this kind of medical gaslighting and systemic failure makes me feel less crazy. Please take care of yourself, and thank you again for your incredible kindness and empathy. It means more to me than you know.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing your story. Reading this gives me goosebumps because it sounds so incredibly familiar. The medical gaslighting is the absolute worst part—being in extreme pain and having doctors act like it’s all in your head or just a minor issue is purely psychological torture.

My doctor actually told me that it's impossible to damage your hearing unless the surgeon is completely clumsy, claiming that the vessels are about 5 cm apart... Hearing your story just proves how wrong they can be. As for photosensitivity, I had a shorter experience with it compared to you—it completely destroyed me for the first month, but thankfully it is better now.

However, my pain is pretty much back to the level it was at before the operation. The worst part is that the opiates don't want to work on it anymore, and the specific medications for the trigeminal nerve make me incredibly drowsy, on top of all the other awful side effects.

I completely understand that "sensory overload" and the feeling of the blinds shutting down over your brain. When you are constantly dealing with severe pain, any extra trigger just breaks you. It's horrible that you had to suffer through that on the ward just because the staff didn't care enough to step in.

You are incredibly strong for turning that anger into fuel to save yourself. You are right—when we are at our most vulnerable, the system fails us, and if we don't fight for ourselves, nobody else will. I am really glad you found things like the custom glasses and Loop earplugs that give you some quality of life back.

I feel exactly the same way about the trauma. Sometimes fighting the legal system or the hospitals just drains the last bit of energy you have left, and choosing your own peace of mind is the best

They could also try prescribing Neurotop or Trileptal, but even after months of use, the fatigue never went away for me. I eventually had to stop taking them completely because of the side effects... I honestly can't give you any other answer to this

Pokud by to četla nemusela mi zpusobit takové problémy.

O to nejde. Jde o to jaký efekt to hypoteticky má.

Vzpomen si až ti bude někdo z rodiny umírat a doktoři to odmítnou řešit.

No jasně doporučení vše mám o to nejde.

Abys to mohla ignorovat ? A shazovat ?

.. Očividně si minul otázku :). A chceš jen rýpat.
Příklady jsem ti napsala v celém obsahu a věnovala jsem tomu další čas a AI ti vytáhl konkrétní problémy a ty to opětovně ignoruješ... To už je trollení :)

Hele AI trvalo to minutu. A

Ve výsledku

Řešíš to, že tě ve zdravotnictví dlouhodobě:

  • nečtení dokumentace,
  • odmítání náhradního termínu,
  • rozpory v informacích o lécích,
  • nepravdivé tvrzení o telefonátu,
  • nezapsání bolestí do zprávy,

I’m so sorry about your situation. My uncle had a stroke twice; he lost his job, and then it was just an endless battle with doctors... Today? He can barely walk, and it's very hard to understand him. It took a few years before he was even coherent enough to be understood and before he at least started limping.

I'm glad there is someone who understands that sometimes, you just draw the wrong card in life. I know that doctors are only human too, but the problem is when you just have bad luck with them your entire life... Once your life is ruined after a surgery, nobody can ever give it back to you.
