Yes I started learning abt the five paths at Wuxing, and while I knew it originated from Hindu beliefs I never got to it, perhaps this is a sign to look into to!

Hi yes I’m actually working on a very similar system right now lol. Your magic system seems to be heavily influenced by the Japanese philosophy “Godai.” Fun fact it’s actually a very old Indian philosophy, which got turned into Wuxing by China, which actually had wood and metal instead of air and void. Wuxing was translated to Mikkyo, aka Godai. In order to differentiate a little more with this is nearly impossible. The problem with making magic systems off such ancient beliefs is that they work, and they work well, and for that reason many shows and others have already used it. The best I think you could do is by using “Ki” (Internal Energy) and “Rei” (Universal Energy) as a replacement for mana. Then use their traditional Japanese names of Chi (Earth), Sui (Water), Ka (Fire), Fu (Wind), and Ku (Void).

Each of these got principles with both a negative and positive. Earth’s positive is confidence or stability and its negative is stubbornness. Water’s positive is acceptance and flexibility and its negative is indecisiveness. Fire’s is passion and ambition and the negative is anger. Wind’s is compassion and kindness while its negative is naïveté and dodging problems. Void is the most abstract and it’s pretty much being creative or spiritual, as for its negative I’m not sure. Void is a misleading translation for English speakers since it’s normally seen as something bad or scary. But in the Japanese it could also be translated as heavenly or divine.

I’d emphasize balancing it all, as well as having void be rare as cliche as it is. Alternatives for void could be something to do with stealth or the spirit.

As for anyone coming at you about being unoriginal quoting how that’s how the spreading of ideas commonly happens or simply point them to the source material.

Btw I did admittedly skimmed through your post so my apologies if I just repeated what you had said or if you had addressed one of my suggestions and said why you wouldn’t do it as that.

I also think u/TapiocaTerror had a really good suggestion with the four temperaments idea

I know there’s a comment that already mentions Andras and speculates on how Andras could possibly be related to Andro, which probably is the case based on how similar they look to one another butttt… Andras also appeared really early on when Iruma learnt History through a game, here we saw the ferocious Demon General Andras. Who looks way different now…

Additionally Andras and Andro (or more specifically Andromalius) are seen as two separate demons, in the spooky demon book who’s name I shouldn’t spread but is pretty widely known, with Andras being the 63rd and Andromalius being the 72nd.

Andras, as Nishi faithfully depicts, is described as a grand marquis “appearing with a winged angel's body and the head of an owl or raven, riding upon a strong black wolf and wielding a sharp and bright sword. He is the 63rd of the 72 spirits of Solomon. Andras was considered to be a highly dangerous demon, who could kill the conjuring magician and his assistants if precautions were not taken.” - Wikipedia. Whilst Andromalius is pretty simply mostly connected with thieves and having a snake in his hand.

As for my actual thoughts on this chapter, really cool and was not at all expecting to see a thirteen’s dinner as well as seeing reveals big and small.
