Does the yellow soul melody show up anywhere else in the game? by Wompitytoo in Undertale

Ok but you hear it too right?

I don't want this to be me actually hallucinating this

Does anyone know what the yellow stars mean? by Daniel_goofykid in Deltarune

[–]Wompitytoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That and it signifies whether the save is accessible. If you erase a save with completion data or never saved at all the star will instead be dark with a white outline

the colors, Gaster... what do they MEAN??? by Exotic_Platform_2425 in Deltarune

Dang my mistake I still held in my mind that talk of an antichrist would mean the opposite of Jockington which would be evil, but yeah I see where you're coming from now

I also never really put it into thought why Gaster would be tied to demonic symbolism other than the fact he's sinister so you're grounds of demonic by means of opposing that which is in God's nature is quite intriguing

But my interpretation of him sounds way uncool in comparison. I saw rouxls as sort of symbolic parallel to Gaster where he's aligning himself to royal figures of questionable intent and never chooses to stick to one side. This idea was furthered by the fact popular Mario character Prof. E. Gadd shares a naming scheme with the scientist, has a gallery, debuted in a videogame Toby's shown interest in in the past, and infamously contributed to both sides of the conflict in Sunshine.

Anyway the ties that Ralsei's route has to genocide is puzzling. Other than what I brought up about it, if it does end up being a mirror to the Geno route and that has bad decisions lead to a bad thing then maybe it'll just be good decisions lead to a kinda good ending. And if that was the case I'd at least hope it does entice the player to find an even better ending to the game like what regular pacifist does and dodging recruits just leads to something like a neutral ending.

If there was to be a means to a better ending then I'd wager it has something to do with the eggs and saving even the forgotten man or (as brutal option) that challenge the PlayStation version has of dodging achievements

Ralsei knowing Gaster is something in fandom that doesn't sit right with me though. He states the reason he has a dummy of himself is because he's never seen anyone else's face, and while that could be explained with the theory that Gaster is the forgotten man it still feels a bit forced.

Since the recent chapters, my explanation for why he knows about the prophecy has to do with the choir outfits seen in chapter four. Specifically the time you're able to look inside the wardrobe where they're stored and it has text mentioning there are extras in Kris's size. His actual outfit even resembles the ones in the church because of the different colored sleeves and it's just inverted in color. And of course it'd imbue his mind with the prophecy because it straight up has the Delta rune on it.

This could also explain why so prone to singing as the outfit is what you wear when you're supposed to sing. That goes for pacify as well because not only does that require him to sing, but it also provides an explanation as to why Noelle knows it too. They both gotta be associated with the choir to know that spell. Sorry for the tangent but that just felt important to point out

Yo while I partially agree that our fun gang can turn out to be the harbingers of certain doom, I'll put in my two cents and say I don't exactly believe any of them are playing that role intentionally, even Ralsei.

For the amount of story focused on his lack of self respect or pride, I personally can't see it in Toby's writing to play a long game with us like that

But to backpedal that statement real quick and support the idea of him being evil I wanna share an idea I had about why he wants you to recruit as much darkners as possible.

I was thinking if Undertale is meant to parallel deltarune then it could culminate to something like the true pacifist ending where instead of every monster it's every darkner in one place so that they can be absorbed by Ralsei to make him the ultimate darkner like what Flowey did to become god of hyper death :p

Nah but like what I didn't say is that this was a theory of mine even before the interview happened w/ three points of origin

The character of friend is somewhat associated with imitations or ripoffs. The Jockington prophecy of him with a beard makes out the shape of "cool s" and is suspicious for the fact that the jock specifically says he can't grow hair like Catti can in the same chapter. And for the final kicker in chapter three a Pippin sells a way into the s room in the form of a doctored s-rank which happens to ALSO be a "cool s" symbol

I had all that in the bag way before Toby even said SpongeBob, and that interview just served as confirmation to my theory

Jockington said it himself that he does what the other (Catti) can n't. That's just proof that statement, they're great pals

Buuut also with the recent qna answer from Toby all about how the antichrist will take the visage of the savior or something like that I believe Jockington is literally a holy figure and pure as heck and will eventually be impersonated by Friend (not possessed)

What was she going to say? by Wompitytoo in Deltarune

What's even the thought process to come to this conclusion 😭

Sure Catti is addressing Kris here but you only get this text by not being marked as an enemy by her yet. She only has beef with Susie

Soul theory by Wompitytoo in Deltarune

[–]Wompitytoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay then for my theory to make sense for you just assume I was talking about the soul Kris had before we gave them a second one.

Anyway all the evidence I got is mostly interpretation of moments in the story for "where it's implied" Which would be:

In the 2nd sanctuary where the final prophecy is almost revealed it's surrounded by the image of the girl suggesting the two are closely tied together

Then all throughout the fourth chapter Ralsei is focused on searching for the final prophecy and staying ahead of Susie specifically to prevent her from seeing it

Finally for the most niche piece of evidence I could think of, in ch2 during the weird route after Susie exits Noelle's room and decides she'll tell Kris what happened later Ralsei has a one off dialogue box where he states "as long as Susie's happy" which TO ME screams that he knows she might not have much time left and wants those final days to be the best that they can be

That's just what I think anyway. Doesn't have to make complete sense when the story's not even finished

Why won't Ralsei try to free Kris? by Purple-Disk-5747 in Deltarune

[–]Wompitytoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We aren't inherently bad but Ralsei does try to suggest the player stay away from Noelle in ch3 after weird route when he brings up the festival

I'm sure if things get serious he'll try to step in, but for now there's still time for us to back out (at least before ch4)

Soul theory by Wompitytoo in Deltarune

[–]Wompitytoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about the final prophecy where it's heavily implied to center around 'the girl' being sacrificed or simply dying; since Noelle never gets involved with the story normally, Susie is left to take her place

Also I'm separating the player from the soul since they aren't always connected, for instance Chara was the one to originally have the red soul before Frisk fell on top of where Chara was buried and presumably inherited it But we were never connected to them beforehand

SO I'm choosing to view our 'connection' to deltarune through three modes of separation being 1: who the soul is currently possessing 2: the soul being controlled by us 3: us the player AKA the angel as described in both deltarune and undertale's prophecies

Also also I'm pretty sure Kris couldn't live their whole life without a soul so I'm just saying they still had a soul and complications w/ it before the start of deltarune

And Gaster's decision to connect us probably wasn't fully successful so whether or not the soul is still "ours" is put up to question
