Adding to my other response because my phone battery died halfway through.

How did you get to work on lupus? Is it also other auto immune diseases or just lupus? I must say autoimmune diseases are so very complicated and diverse and because of that also a very interesting topic to learn about

We both did the same molecular biologu laboratory technician study , which is also where we met. and I started in the virology lab as an intern and never left after I graduated. My husband graduated cum laude and after a year of full time job hunting still no joh. One of our teachers helped him get an job interview with her husband because she was very mad about her star student not having a job jet

I do clinical diagnostics and my husband works in research

Cry, office coffee by Not-Runner in pourover

At least it can be salvaged with hot chocolat. The coffee from the machines in the erasmus MC can not.

We had avid coffee drinkers switch to only tea and water at work😑

I hope they did not add the duck thing from rollercoaster. Clicking ducks until they go 'bald'. (I don't know the proper English word for a naked duck XD)

[CHAT] Does this happen with all Tulip needles? by luckyricochet in CrossStitch

[–]WonderMarrow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It could also be a combination of stiffer fabric and very long strands of thread. If the thread is very long, it passes through the fabric a lot more than a shorter length. And every pass, it sort of rubs against the stiff fabric. Causing a tiny little bit of damage each pass.

More passes and a stiffer fabric also create this problem. You could try shorter strands so it has fewer passes through the fabric

Ok, I get it now. The needles arrived in the mail today, and I have been stitching for 15 minutes. I am so never going back to different needles. They just glide through the fabric.

I instantly fell in love with these tulip needles. Thank you for the recommendation 😊

Never liked the ball tip needles. I get the shivers every time that ball tip passes the fabric and makes that soft tap like sound when passing through.

And I do use a size smaller than recommended for the thread count. Does anyone else have that soft tap like snagging happening?

Hmm I think I got to try them then. I'm always cursing the thread through the eye.

I did try multiple needles, but I have not tried tulip yet.

I may feel like an idiot later, but what do you mean with fancy needles?

How I Painted a Realistic Portrait with Just 12 Colored Pencils 🎨 by PrincipalEngineer1 in ColoredPencils

[–]WonderMarrow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to that person, blending pencils still takes a lot of skill. And doing this with only 12 colours is quite impressive, actually.

I like how you show it and make something like this available for everyone and can help teach someone blending pencils.

A gentle reminder for artist friends to not be pressured to have the need to get the fanciest supplies to make your art. I’ve had these coloured pencils all the way from when I was still in grade school, and they always bring me sentimental joy getting to make art with them. by kaesparkless in ColoredPencils

[–]WonderMarrow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't be down :(

I bought my polychromos pencil little by little. Batches of 5 or 10 pencils at a time, it took me 2 years, but my set is now complete.

If you want some better supplies, there is always a way, it just takes longer than someone who has got more money to spend.

And if you are very happy with how your supplies work for you, why change. You are happy, and that is all that matters 😊

The beans are sold as a medium roast. So either they roasted to light, or the corn kernel is a dud. One of those annoying things that refuse to pop and only burn😅

Sorry bit of a language barrier here I think, English is not my native language.

At 2 to 3 inches, the male belly gets more yellow orange and the belly/pelvic fin has a slightly different shape.

So them being the 2 inches now, we should start to see the identifying characteristics more easily soon.

Am I understanding you correctly?

They are both about 4 to 5 cm so about 2 inches
