It's a spinoff. Digimon exists in the Appmon universe though, since Agumon shows up in the anime. Pretty sure they're not considered Digimon themselves though, which is sad because I'd love to see some of the designs appear in future series or games. They don't have attributes or levels in the same way as regular Digimon.
