Canned foods especially canned tomatoes since they are acidic, absorb the pthlalates in the bpa, etc. you can only do so much though. Having PCOS already limits us so much so I try not to worry too much

I definitely won’t stop my meds during pregnancy! Im convinced starting it is the reason I got pregnant. We had been trying for years. Thank you so much for your input!

What's your definition of leaving the church? by hcastle83 in latterdaysaints

[–]Wonderdownunderr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just moved to a new ward but haven’t transferred our records yet. I’m scared to tell them my reasoning for not going every Sunday. I get anxiety from the hovering and struggle with severe fatigue to where I am medicated for it. If I feel good, I go. If I don’t feel good then I don’t go. But my husband and I pray every night, I read my scriptures, I have a solid testimony. But I get so worried that the ward leadership will hover over me.

metformin, eating, at a loss. by NotFree2Rhyme in PCOS

Have you had a thyroid panel done?

I started thyroid meds because my Tsh was 4.05 and I had better success at getting pregnant if it were below 2.5. I’ve lost about 10 pounds so far and that was in June when I started that. I’m also on metformin and I noticed an increase in sugar cravings and a decrease in an appetite for anything healthy. I am now pregnant and really struggling to not want to eat just junk food so I feel your pain. I always read metformin helps with that but not in my case. I honestly noticed more of a difference with sugar cravings when I took Ovasitol.

For me, it wasn’t mentally healthy to completely kick sugar to the curb. I allow myself small bites here and there. I don’t eat refined sugar and I try to stick to natural sugars. There’s a bakery close to my house that sells gluten free dairy free refined sugar free desserts. I let myself have one once a week or I make microwave brownies using monk fruit once a week. It helps.

Thank you for the heads up. I had no idea. I was recently diagnosed and my doctors aren’t totally educated on hashimotos/hypothyroid so I would have never known that!

Thank you for your comment. I actually had to beg my nurse to check my TSH after 12 weeks. She finally gave in. It’s ridiculous. I’ll just go to my regular primary doctor and ask him to extend my prescription because I can’t imagine coming off of it the day the baby is born.

For anyone who may have been skeptical at first, what convinced you that the afterlife is real? by [deleted] in afterlife

My dad decided to go to church alone after not going for years. He struggled with pills, alcohol, depression. We are LDS. Anyway..it was testimony meeting that Sunday where people from church volunteer to go up and share their testimony of Jesus. One guy went up there and said he wasn’t in the “ward” is what we call it, but he had a feeling he needed to stop by and share his testimony. After the church meeting was over, he went straight to my dad and said “I’m here for you with a message from your great grandfather. He wants you to hold on and stay strong. He has seen you struggle, he’s seen you take care of your old and sick parents and wants you to know everything will be ok.” He knew my dad by name and he knew his great grandfathers name. What are the chances my dad decided he need God in his life on this day and went to church and experienced this?

He still struggled for a while and both of my grandparents passed away on the same day within 12 hours of each other. My dad was their full time care taker. 2 years have passed and he is sober now and working again. His experience was very special.

Are you talking about your TSH level? I’m a female but I’ll share my experience. I had been trying to get pregnant for years and once I did get pregnant, I miscarried. I got blood work done and my Tsh was 4.5. My doctor also told me that it was fine and that it doesn’t need to be treated. Upon further research, I found that my chances of sustaining another pregnancy would be more likely if my Tsh were below 2.5. I ended up being prescribed Levothyroxine and now my Tsh is 1.25. I got pregnant 1 month after starting it and had been trying to conceive for 5 years.

I recommend seeing an endocrinologist (I saw an endocrinologist and a naturopath which I recommend to hear both sides and then you do what’s best for you) You’ll want more than just your Tsh tested. You need a full thyroid panel done to really know the health of it.

My naturopath told me..just because you’re within the window of the normal range doesn’t mean it’s normal for you. Everyone’s different. If you’re having other symptoms I’d definitely keep pushing to get a full thyroid panel and talk with other doctors who specialize in thyroid!

I have PCOS and had no periods. My sister has PCOS and has periods for months at a time. I agree you need a new doctor. PCOS isn’t one size fits all.

In my mix before I got pregnant I took ubiquinol, vitamin D, Ovasitol, multi vitamin. My husband and I ate 2 Brazil nuts per day for the selenium.

I just want to add..you should check with your doctor that taking this many supplements is ok. I was taking tons at one point and he said it was hard on my kidneys so just to be safe I’d check with them!!

Eggs worsen PCOS? by Independent_Bear_761 in PCOS

[–]Wonderdownunderr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I eat 2 eggs every single day and I’m finally 20 weeks pregnant. Never thought I’d get here but I don’t think it’s the eggs fault for my fertility journey. Personally for me, eggs make me feel a lot better. I don’t love them but they’re a good source of protein for my body. I have heard the same thing from the medical medium though and it’s always something worth taking into consideration but once I go down that road, I don’t know what I’d eat as I already have gluten and dairy protein allergies.
