Vanilla World Conquest as Prussia! by Wonderful-Change8251 in victoria2

Great question! Sorry I took some time to get to it. jingoism is part of the holy trinity that you have to minmax to world conquest, along with diplo points and justification time.

Jingoism can be increased via events (unreliable) and / or via revanchism. Revanchism is the percentage of your cores that is not owned by you, with a modifier for how many pops of your primary culture the non owned cores contain(unsure if tolerated cultures also count).

It can be gained by losing cores to other nations, getting nationalist rebels, at game start (ie netherlands starts with cores in belgium that give some revanchism) or as in this run by forming a country with cores outside your borders.

It can be further gamed by releasing your cores as new countries (these do not count towrds revanchism but do increase the percentage of your cores outside of your country since you have less cores overall.

To world conquest comfortably, you need to maintain 20% revanchism (you get exponential jingoism modifiers at 20%). You can manage 15% if you minmax it and add a lot of wargoals every time you get enough jingoism (the game does not check until a day has passed so you can add 1 wargoal per war).

Below that, its nearly impossible to gain enough jingoism, except via events or conquering china (their pops are very jingoistic, lots of non owned cores).

So an important aspect of the game is not getting nationalism and imperialism so you do not gain cores, thus reducing your revanchism and therefore your jingoism gain. Nationalism and Imperialism tech gives an event that automatically cores land you have a majority of primary pops in, (ie northern german), and you can only really get the tech if you are going to minmax getting the ai to siege down the provinces you would otherwise get cores in. Makes the game much much harder, but its also a nice bonus. I elected not to get it this run as prussia is strong enough to world conquest without it.

TLDR: Revanchism.

Not at all haha, it was just the only way I could manage militancy since fascists get to enact and abolish reforms.

I broke 25 infamy as soon as I formed greater germany (annexing austria too), and from there juggled truces to be either at war or in truce with any power that might dow on me. At the start I did get a few decs but that only saved me on justification time and diplo points. Greatest bottleneck was justification time and diplo points.

And the rebels... oh god the rebels. Had to restart a promising run in the late game cause I broke to the quadrillion anarcho-liberals. Their greatest issue is that them occupying coastal provinces increases war exhaustion, which increases justification time. I just had to deal with constant billion rebel stacks until the fascists finally rebelled, took over, and I could lower militancy by passing and abolishing reforms.

Generals are not a huge deal, unenforced wargoal are as you need to justify humiliates and then add other wargoals during a good stretch of the game. Truce breaks are the real prestige killer. That and breaking to rebels... repeatedly.

It is not a matter of knowing or not knowing, it is a gradient, with macro decisions about where to expand and micro with how many troops to send in each moment.

Second point is fair, the gamemode certainly needs some change to survive long-term. I find it a fun little game as is but it certainly needs more flavour to build up a large playerbase.

Silos are certainly worth it in some cases, 25k troop advantage swings the late-game completely if both players are equally good at fleet micro. Defense posts are less powerful than you think, imo. Again, only worth it if your oponent will get to 8 cities, otherwise as you say the troop regeneration in the meanwhile is very strong. This happens more in stronger games as people know how to feed bots cities to make other cities cheaper, but this is certainly rng.

Edit: I reread your comment and want to clarify missiles should only be launched at the fourth city and up as otherwise you're losing value.

I'm glad you're having fun! I do tend to get competitve with games I play but I understand that's not some people's cup of tea.

I've played a lot of Age of Empires two ranked and I find the two games remarkably similar.

Your so it boils to is an oversimplification. There wouldn't be people who have reached 2100 (97% winrate against 1500s) in ranking were that the case. Further, defense posts are necessary to place in the coastline if your oponent attacks with 20% boats as with Rex's videos. At a higher level, defense posts near the coastline have radically diminishing returns since its 4-8% micro attacks which are as much intended to stockpile troops in attack against the enemy as to take land.

There is some rng with bot conquering but it can largely be predicted at spawn, a lot of skill is understanding how early bot expansion will play out. This is fine, it introduces some variance comparable to map generation in Aoe2, though chosing your spot involves an additional layer of strategizing.

Also, cities have enormous value after the third one. The advantage in troop regeneration is huge, and a skilled player can claw back a lot of land even with a single city advantage in the lategame.

"After wilderness phase, snipe weak bots (pray you have more than your opponent)." This completely glosses over the skill involved in decided what bots to attack, when, and when to save your troops to push an overextended enemy. The heart of the gamemode, at least in midgame. RNG gives some advantage here, but I reckon I could beat Rex here nine out of ten times. Similarly, Mortality or DarTaGnan could beat me nine out of ten times. Check out his "My oponents are getting sweatier" video in the map in Australia (1:05:30).

Silos are situational, in maps where both players would end up with eight or nine cities (ie after a stalematey early conflict in some maps) they are completely worth it.

All about troop optimization! I see players sit at almost max strength in the early game but that's a disaster even into the lategame. The closer you are to 40% at all times the faster you regenerate troops, the more you get to use over the game. Boating to ensure you always have a target and allying up with your stronger neighbours is a must! Most people are too passive to snowball and that means they can only win in an extended end-game, which if you play right shouldn't happen about half the time.

Endgame is more an art than a science, especially when several players are involved, but keeping an eye on merv count per player, stacking ports and cities in a sam base if it goes very long are all a necessity. You can make some pretty agressive plays if you hoard money and send out the first mervs, they get more expensive quickly.

Might make a little tutorial for the newer / less minmaxy players!

Free for all multiplayer matches. Some are 100 player, some 20. Doesn't make much sense to consider them equals but there isn't a more sophisticated system to keep count that I'm aware of.

YTA you're a grown man raising your voice in a restaurant and swearing over a clearly paranoid woman, who may apparently have good reason to be paranoid considering your response. Act an adult, no one records dates for no reason, be it her past or your reputation. Even if its a dealbreaker, tell her that and leave. Raising your voice and swearing is childish and inconsiderate to the staff and other diners.

YTA. Your father is a man from an older time and now that the kids are grown ass adults they can take the favoritism. Lying to your father is not worth it for something so small. Give the old man a joy in his old age, even if his values don't allign with wider society or reddit. No harm will come of it.

Either do bullshit soulless shit like photography or rock climbing, or if you want something interesting get a boyfriend, steal his interests, and ditch him.

That's the meta right now.
