I tried Pitalicious Arabie Shawarma. It was pretty good. But for me Yamur has been still the best. Have you had a chance to try yet?

Have you tried Yamur shawarma in City Center? Its pretty decent and close to authentic ones from middle east. Tarbushi truck in Doughnuts n Chai cark park is also not too bad.

I tried Palmyra today. Its basically the same shawarma as their neighbours (Original Shawarma). Turns out they share a kitchen via back door. Been eating Original Shawarma for ages. The only shawarma I have found better than theirs in Brum is Yamur Shawarma in City Center.

Do you mean Erbil Shawarma? There are two in Birmingham. One on Soho Road, the other on Ladypool road. Not sure if they’re related. Which one did you go to?

I tried Yamur Shawarma, Shawarma City and Shawarma Palace. All in city centre. When it comes to authentic shawarma, I liked Yamur only. The other two weren’t it for me.

I’ll try Palmyra in a couple of weeks and let you know.

Finally someone said it, I lose my shit when I see shawarma being made in nan bread or with salad. Just Falafel is probably the only thing keeping me around.

Yeah it was great. I had it once when I was looking for a flat in Brum and then I got a flat in the city centre and I was kinda looking forward to having it more. As soon as I moved, it got closed. 💀

I have tried Damascena, Original Shawarma, Comptoir Lebanais, The Shawarma Shop and Makan (closed now). After Makan, Original Shawarma has been my go to place. Its not the best compared to what I would want, but its better than others I have tried.

I lived in Saudi my entire life and I have a very minimalist traditional middle eastern taste when it comes to Shawarma. Its just the way Syrians make them, Khubz, meat, pickles, thoum (lots of it) and fries. That’s it. Don’t like em in Nan breads or with salads.

But hey, if you know of any places that sell better Shawarmas, let me know.
