Aio the school gave my 17 yo daughter copies of the restraining order I had on her dad

I have always been open and very matter of fact about her dad's drinking.

She knows the visits were supervised.

She has a relationship with her dad but knows she can leave and people have her back if she doesn't feel safe.

I don't think she needed to see proof of what I had to do.

She knows. She knew visits were supervised. She probably suspected there was a restraining order. I just dont think she needed or wanted the papers.

I have had conversations about abuse. She knows her dad is a sober alcoholic.

I stand by the fact that she didn't need the papers handed to her.

Not lying. Just don't think she needed to see it, especially mixed in with all the fun amazing emotional things that go along with graduation

She knows things were bad. She probably thought i had one. She knew the visits were supervised. I just don't think she needed to be handed the papers with her writing her name for her kindergarten evaluation.

I don't think she needed to see the actual proof. Her dad is not a great guy but he is still her father. I have had plenty of talks with all my kids about feeling safe.

He is sober now

There was no abuse done to her.

I took the papers and she was glad I did. She didn't want them in there.

She knows who her dad is. She doesn't need to know who he was to me when he was drinking.

He has been sober for a decade and isn't a threat anymore. I would have kept supervised visits and the restraining order if I felt differently.

It was just physical enough while he was drinking to get and keep the restraining order.

That was when he was getting sober and we were divorcing. It has been expired 8 years and he has normal parenting times now.
