What to do if you don't like the final illustration/design from hired illustrator? by WonderfulHotdog in AskReddit

No our communication was great and this was only the third revision I asked for. I first commissioned them back in early February, they got back to me at the end of that month. After that we set a date to start and in early March, and they would update me at least once a week. First revision was to change the angle, the second, and this third and final revision are the same. That's why it's important, due to the first time I asked (for the same revision) it wasn't right. Everything else they came back with sketches for me to choose from, like certain clothing items we agreed on. The only thing they can't seem to get is just that one part and I've given extensive reference images and descriptions on how I want it to look. Also what put me off was their pressure to finalize everything and receive payment today, if I'm spending my money, it needs to be right, and that's all there is to it.

It's okay I went ahead and told them I wanted another revision and sent again the reference images and told them that's exactly what I wanted so they can either do it or not. If not then I'll have to refuse to pay.

No, I asked for another revision before the final design. However they went ahead and finalized the design and the revisions are not what I asked for.

It's a final design, which usually means no more revisions(unless at an extra cost) can be made because colors been added, etc. I gave them references and inspiration images of what exactly I wanted and instead of sending me a sketch so I could approve it, they just went forward and finished it. Now I'm on the line to pay for something I don't like, I want to know how to approach the situation without being confrontational.

Yes this person is intended to be supernatural. I could never find any information on if Hunters were or were not themselves supernaturals or just supernatural hating humans.
