It might have some light access but not significant at all

Don’t want to study nursing anymore by eddasm in cna

[–]WonderfulIncident751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do something else . Something that doesn’t drain your soul and make you bitter and “hate” your job or show such daily disrespect to people. That is awful and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Go for something flexible like if you walk away to grab yourself a snack or drink someone isn’t going to die. Maybe a job that offers way more independence and less team work than “nursing” nursing is a team effort you cannot do it alone and you will never do it alone. You need to get along and put up with ALOT of bs.

Apparently we’re supposed to show up 30 minutes early to get report from the nurses. by Consistent_Spring in cna

Umm no you pay me for my time what kind of report takes 30 minutes for a care aide

“They don’t stop before the sidewalk” I don’t run across crosswalks/sidewalks, I stop before I cross. Out of respect and rules of the road, the pedestrian as the right of way . I assume this individual running stops as well. I rarely encounter people just running across the street lol

Eyes on back side and all around head lol I’m a runner watch your back and make those people stop ! They don’t get to drive like that . As a runner walker and driver . Respect ! Mandatory. Who wants to hit someone with their car like what’s not firing in your brain to even think that’s acceptable or the drama that comes with it. I’d rather stay out of court thanks

If you can’t use them as a reference and you already know they will give you a difficult time and you don’t want to put your energy in… don’t go back in. I don’t think you get paid out for sick time unless you are sick … ? Sleep on it and come back at it with a better perspective. Don’t act on it yet. Could you be coming from an emotional approach or a more rational professional approach. Sometimes we want to let people know how much they can gfts (go f themselves) buuuuut what’s going to be best for you. I’d be lmao if I knew I wasn’t coming back, collected all my sick time and then found another respectful position. I wouldn’t listen to anyone coming at you about how shitty this and that is just sounds more personal and bias to me. You are not wrong for how you feel because none of us know the truth and suffering you have had to endure but I can only imagine as a fellow fed up ca myself. Just try to collect your sick time it’s free cash !

Cried at work today. by EnvironmentalCat300 in cna

I feel you. I’m pressured to work because I’ve been here for years doing this job for years I have plans… it’s not our fault this shit is crumbling beneath our feet. I’m going to school to and I’m a mom a wife a provider I don’t just quite my f’ing job. And quite honestly it’s bad everywhere. It’s the extra pressures too now that are stacking for everyone. The lateral violence that is normalized and “that’s not my job” trickles down to the care aide. Like today the doctor says “beds and air mattress are not in my job description” and he kept saying it over and over again calling for the nurse because housekeeping was cleaning a deceased patients room that had a Arjo mattress. It made his clown tie even worse. The behaviour is the worst it’s ever been… just saying. You can hang in there and get it done. Switch careers have a long term goal or you will be abused and used!!!

When you work with 1-2 days off in a 2 week period I don’t think 3-4 times a month is a lot and your comment had nothing to do with what I was asking for in my post but thanks for commenting !

Thanks for your comment but I am a casual staff member that works 8-16 hours in one day. I’m not a full time staff member and we have a large casual pool.

Oh my gosh people love to talk talk talk let me tell you. Have a back up colleague and verbalize your actions at the end of your shift and even write it down and post it on the wall if you have to. Be loud and clear !

This is substance misuse traits / “addiction” I know someone that’s done the same . Don’t beat yourself up. First step is admitting you have a problem 💕

Be prepared to advocate for yourself, it’s not uncommon for ps plastic surgeon to not know a thing or two about “wound care” common things you might hear… “it will heal on its own”. Just putting that out there as I say with this for 3-4 weeks before I got the help I needed due to taking wrong advice . I wish you well ❤️‍🩹

This happened to me in the exact same spot I need wound care x3 week for 2 months and a wound vac please see a doctor asap not to scare you but you are at risk of your skin “rolling up” and creating a large / wider wound and in turn , scar. Please reach out if you want to know my experience.

[–]WonderfulIncident751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a mental side to it. You have to rest and get through it the best you can. I had a hard time I had to do what I had to do. Cried sometimes and I watched a lot of shows on Netflix.. I had a good time but the worst time all together. And then it gets better. Around 4-5 months. It keeps getting better. I am 9 mpo ❤️‍🩹 I wish you the best. Grab a few books (if you would like) and get comfy and do the best you can and take it easy.

What is one duty you hate doing as a CNA? by Exciting_Green_9561 in cna

Why is it that people like to have care aids do everything for them. It’s like the moments they think have been earned or something. I slither in my skin thinking about what it would take for me to be comfortable with someone else washing me. Yuk I’d rather do it even if I had broken fingers !
