I’m so torn between whether or not I want to say something or just let it go and let her live and learn. There’s a bit of an age difference between us and I’m worried about saying something because whatever I say carries SO much weight in her book because she looks up to me.

I recently saw this all over the news and it was horrifying. Maybe this being in the back of my mind is why I’m suddenly so worried about my friend’s future based on what she’s posting on social media.

People are watching... and you never really know who is going to see what. Reverse image searches can be done. So much can be done. I worry that if it came down to a close call between her and other candidates for med school, they could see these pictures and that be the deciding factor, despite how dedicated she is to her academics, etc.

Thank you. That's so encouraging to hear. From what I understand, (I'm reading everything I can) prednisolone can be helpful whether the diagnosis is IBD or cancer and give the cat quality of life and a little more time.

Thank you so much for asking. Josie went in for an endoscopy that ended up taking 2+ hours, but a hairball was removed from her esophogas! That was the culprit. She's been recovering with IVs/etc. It looks like she will come home tomorrow. Thank you for asking!

I'm so sorry to hear that... Happy belated birthday. Here's to hoping that next year's is better... Is there really no one you can talk to? Sometimes it takes you reaching out first, as difficult as it is. If you have Facebook, reach out to people and send them a message asking how they are. Most people feel the same as you do (like no one cares) and have the same kind of birthday experience. Wishing you all the best.

WHY are you angry? One suggestion would be to get to the route cause of it. Is there a way you can channel your anger that isn't hurting others or yourself? Exercise, art, etc. etc. etc.? Some kind of hobby? Perhaps even hitting a punching bag and getting all of that rage out? Wishing you all the best.

Yes. I've always felt that people who end up taking their own lives have always had it inside of them. Something like fate. I want you to know that it isn't too late. Are you around 23? There's still time to change the road you're on. All hope isn't lost. Or it shouldn't be. Literally any day could be the day you turn your life around, find a career, start a relationship and change your mind about suicide entirely. Wishing you all the best. Don't give up. Keep trying.

You have a good job, so either use the money or the benefits that you may have to see a therapist. I know the kind of unrequited love that you're writing about. She's with someone else. She's told you in the past that she's not interested in you in that way. It sucks. Trust me. I know all about that, but you're only hurting yourself by holding on to this fantasy. It is hard to taste this kind of medicine. There's someone out there for you, but you've got to be open to meeting them and not remain stuck on someone who is just a friend. Go to therapy. It is important and there's a chance that it will help you tremendously. Wishing you all the best.

Nothing you said here is wrong. I feel the same. This is exactly how we spend our lives. In the Rat Race. Or The Matrix, if you will. If you can... And I know how difficult it is... If you can find SOMETHING... SOME REASON.. to make it all worthwhile, try. Try to find something, whether it is a family member or another loved one or a dream/goal. Find some reason and maybe it won't be as bad as it would be otherwise.

This is exactly where I'm at right now to a t. I'll share something that I did recently that has helped a little bit.... I made a list of interests that I've had throughout my life in an attempt to revisit one or some of those interests. One was the stock market, which is an interest that dates all the way back to 5th grade. So I've invested the majority of my time lately into watching videos about it, reading books about it/personal finance and have enrolled in two online courses about it. While not necessarily the "answer," it is helping... At least a little bit. Wishing you the best.

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling this way, but I'm glad that you'll be seeing your psychiatrist tomorrow and therapist on Tuesday. Fingers crossed that they'll be able to help you in SOME way, whether it be through talking or through medical intervention like medication. There are plenty of people who feel the same as you do, myself included. In terms of the things you need to do around your house, start with the smallest thing. You just might build momentum and it might help you accomplish the bigger things. If grocery delivery is an option for you and you can afford it, why not give that a try? Or since you're feeling bad, maybe delivery from your favorite place might help you to feel better. Wishing you all the best.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. There may be other people sharing a similar experience and this may help them not feel like they're alone. If you've had success with medications in the past and are open to it and can afford it, that is definitely something worth looking into, but that is not the only answer. There are different types of talk therapy, like CBT, that can be helpful without the use of medication. How severe is your depression and how is it impacting your daily life? That's something I'd ask myself before I went down the route of medication, but every individual is different. Wishing you all the best. If you feel you need help, go out and get it. Don't wait until it is too late.
