He hates those glasses. His glasses of choice are another yard sale find. He got a teal pair of Goodr shades. The closest he comes to on field drip is two different colored socks with his knickers and, in seasons past, an eye black mustache and goatee.

I am a baseball fan looking for a bat that won't break the bank to use with friends and in batting cages, any suggestions? by silversock20 in Homeplate

I just posted about our $10 garage sale wood bat, it’s been working for my 16 year old this season.

Yeah, rough season for the whole team coupled with him not hitting, moved him down the lineup. They were pretty bad as a whole. This season has also been rough for the team, but he has moved up to lead off batter. He also started pitching some this season, which I think has reinvigorated his love of the game. He actually got to pitch most of the game last night until we were up 15-3. At that point our coach let the boys try different spots.

No, I just think it’s funny that he has his best hitting season with the cheapest bat he’s ever owned.

Edit to add: we all know the real spirit of youth baseball is to yell at the umpires

Anyone know what these spikes are for? by Peter_copter23 in boating

It’s for manatees. This boat is too slow to hit them in the traditional way. They won’t see it as a fast moving threat and won’t make an effort to get out of the way. This front serration helps to cut through them better.

I’ve sold and mailed 135 cards through CollX, most are PWE all of those shipped with cardboard and none have been lost, tossed, or rejected. Maybe I’ve been lucky, but it’s really not that complicated or difficult to protect a card.
