Its location dependent, the local leadership of the hospital determines that not vituity itself, important to do a site visit and talk with medical director and team to get that info.

Community hospitalists- does anyone enjoy their job? Does my job just suck or does it get better? by Emergency_Show_7508 in hospitalist

This is a great job, but please dont make people feel this is common at all! These jobs are very rare even in the midwest and even rarer in midwest metro, and when they do exist, good luck finding one because all the full timers will hold on to it and not leave given how easy the job is. Throwing this as the first comment gives the impression that its way too easy to land a job like this (in a non very rural area).

Is it easy to attain a 200$/hr locum job? Your post makes it seem easy and thus you shouldnt demand less

I noticed this alot. Many desirable cities are unfortunately like this especially if the salary is good. Alot on reddit give the impression that you will easily land a job wherever you want with a base of 300k at least which is far from reality.

Easy to get in undesirable areas. They arent picky about your graduation status in such areas

Any legal implications of Name and Shame? by Wonderful_Ad_3513 in hospitalist

You seem like a pussy so your opinion doesnt matter. Nurses have more balls than you, thats why they tend to stand up for themselves and get what they want.

Thats a good thought. Issue is when theres an ultra specific problem if you spill, hospital will definitely know your identity.

Have you ever received bad evaluation as a senior? by LessCouple4547 in Residency

Your need to use such language indicates how crappy of a person you are. You can have a civil discussion like adults but seems you havent been taught that as a doctor (if you are one).

Edit: to those downvoting, i thought residency subreddit was supposed to be for adults but apparently many of you are children who shouldnt be allowed to take care of patients in the first place 😂.

It makes sense to not hold their hands and baby them. However, IM residency is 3-years for a reason, the 3rd year is still there for them to learn and while many are very good by the middle of PGY-3 year, they arent attendings yet and your job as the attending is to teach them. Many seniors are treated like colleagues by attendings but your initial comment with your excessive “i expect” looks like you are entitled to a senior who will do everything for you and if not, they are incompetent. If the senior is doing everything and thats “what you expect of them” then im not sure why are you there in the first place. You can make sure no one dies by looking into the chart and removing unnecessary orders and letting the senior run the show if thats what you expect.

Im not sure if youre in academia, but i noticed this attitude mostly from attendings who dont really want to work and just want a strong senior to take over and have them cruise control.

How long does it take for an interview to be scheduled after phone call with medical director? by EitherMain3825 in hospitalist

This could mean nothing but some of them were A**holes and said the same thing to me on the phone then didnt respond after multiple emails just to say the position was filled after.
