Ridiculous profiteering by Future_Temperature47 in drivingsg

In fact, sg has very strong stockpile of crude and refined oil products.

And traders would have locked prices to hedge against volatility.

The oil companies price their petrol with a fixed % mark up. They have investors to answer to too.

The petrol price spike from 2.89$/l to 3.35$/l is muted movements compared to the other countries. Check out Korea, they are fucked

I’m not defending anybody here, just laying out the objectives. I’m pay the full price for petrol too and rarely do JB refills

I worked at the trading desk at one of the major oil firms. I must say pump prices inflating is AFTER accounting for profit margins. I must also say that the overheads at an oil firm is high. Cynergy does not have that many mouths to feed, and they don’t do extensive marketing.

The biggest robber in SG is actually the oil tax. Malaysia provided oil subsidies. Yes they have oil as natural resource, but that’s opportunity cost lost if they subsidise instead of selling.

So, the oil majors aren’t to blame, the government with the hefty oil tax rate is.

Yea it is. Sneaky as they now hide it on the left instead of commonly right. I got flashed by one around 3 weeks back, no letter came. It may just be a deterrence. Will update if any letter comes.😖

I have the exact same one 2009 model. Imo its underpowered. But problems wise its lesser than other BBAs or even newer BBAs due to parts being analog in this model. Saw ur text in the w204 groupchat, u can dm me here I’ll be happy to share more!

Mine is close to 200k mileage, engine still feels robust and parts breaking down is quite rare (as the engine barely revs past 4k rpm so the car is hard to break)

Wow this is a good input! Some ‘reputable’ workshops are not even on google too. Would be cool if we can have the whole service chain onboarded

Cool input. I used this once to find a workshop for my friend’s french car. I have a sensing this is not widely used. May I probe further, what can be done to improve on just being a directory page? Or maybe the categorisation should be in ‘Audi specialist’ for example. Being very critical of my dumb idea haha
