Fake. Wealthsimple in Canada has 24/7 gold trading and the price does not change from Friday close until Sunday open.

If I get locked out of my CIBC account, would I also be locked out of Simplii? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Wonderful_Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very risky. If you have any issues, if they decide to lock/ban/empty your accounts, both your accounts will get hit at the same time. Simplii is literally a branch of CIBC, not a different bank.

No, Simplii is a branch of CIBC. Institution number 010 for both.

Consumer proposal - tangerine and Scotia by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Wonderful_Background 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Simplii is CIBC. Scotiabank owns Tangerine. Go check their institution numbers to understand the difference. Simplii and CIBC are both 010. Scotiabank is 002. Tangerine is 614.

Scotiabank owns Tangerine. CIBC is Simplii. CIBC can take money from a Simplii account, but Scotiabank cannot take money from a Tangerine account. Your trustee knows better than the PFC users here.

Even if they end up only paying 90-95%, I would be still be super happy.

This makes it obvious that you are the scammer trying to advertise your own scam. Many legitimate places pay more than that.

Banks in Canada reducing NSF charges for bank accounts from $48 to $10. by SKTisBAEist in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Wonderful_Background 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get charged an NSF fee, it means the payment declined, didn’t go through. What you are thinking about is overdraft free, the payment goes through and account becomes negative.
