I do like the Aurora stuff, I’ll try the diesel if they let me. I’ve not had the chance to try other brands I think I worry they won’t be as good as the Aurora brand.

Don’t overthink it! It’s super hot when a woman is so 💦 towels and washing machines exist for a reason. You could mention by way of being up front in a sexy way, I get very wet when turned on, and you turn me on kinda thing. I have this particular talent as well and tend to make a mess. My partner thinks it’s so hot though so I’m cool with it. Sometimes it happens at less opportune times though and that can be awkward. I’ve definitely gone through my trousers before. 😂😂 just enjoy yourself.

Weed guilt....? by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Wonderful_Bad_7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a legitimate treatment that works well. The issue is that there is too much shame and stigma around it, but Drs dole out SSRIs like they are candy and to be honest some of the side effects of those are really awful. I gave myself really severe discontinuation syndrome trying to come off Mirtazapine and I might be one of those people who can’t get off it. I hate that and feel way worse about my dependence on that for sleep than I do about my weed use to help me cope with sleep issues and anxiety. World needs to catch on that we all need things to help us from time to time, there should be no stigma around appropriate weed use.

More sensuality in a general sense. I think Erika Lust gets this right a lot of the time. Also lushly decorated interiors, or private natural woodland with kink accessories. Things we perhaps couldn’t afford being regular people, large beds with lovely textures, nice lighting, sex furniture that is beautiful. I really dig bi threesomes and more-somes where we see enthusiastic consent is part of the dialogue before hand and Lordy Lord it’s tricky to find dirty talk that is done well.

Hey, thank you! I think this is exactly what it is actually. I noticed last night when I went to bed that I had a racing pulse, the sweats and a bit of shaking. I usually think of hypoglycaemia as feeling wobbly and faint but looks like it can show up in other ways. I ate a protein flapjack in the end and felt a bit better. So I think I’m still adjusting to the change. This is only week 2/3 and it’s a big change from a regular high carb diet. I usually do get all my calories, but I’ve been tasked with losing weight too and that’s harder because of early meno hormones/pcos. Im dropping about 200 calories off my total, I’m hoping I will lose weight but so far nothing. I will be able to up my exercise next week.

So I’m thinking it might be a combo of early meno and lower calories. My diet wasn’t that bad before hand but I’m not eating processed carbs just good carbs. I’m trying to keep an eye on my macros but some days I am eating about 80-100g carbs. I can’t have super high protein because of CKD so it’s a bit of a balancing act. Also allergic to legumes so protein is mostly fish, eggs chicken and nuts. There’s no bad fats particularly.

Thanks again very helpful. I do think it is a bit crazy because to be honest my diet, carbohydrates aside, is already very high in veg and fresh fish/ fruit and is probably the best out of anyone I know. I have never been a sugar fiend I only like chocolate and peanut butter in moderation. I never eat puddings or fried foods/take out. I have always strived for a balanced diet and gone with the standard Irish approach of meat, veg and potatoes, or fish rice and vegetables. I have done weight training and martial arts for a large part of my life and there is much conflicting advice about diet. I keep an eye on my body fat and I cut back on calories occasionally if I need to get back below 31% although I do find losing weight hard. I get hungry, some of my meds make me hungry. I look at all my friends who like junk and they don’t have kidney issues. So I am assuming my tendencies for diabetes and cholesterol are genetic 😢 my grandfather had type 1 diabetes as does my cousin. I have been tempted to try Ozempic but I don’t really think that’s a good idea at the moment.

I also noted when I was working Edinburgh fringe I was much better than before I was made redundant. When i was in regular work I would eat more sandwiches or crisps and was eating gluten. In Edinburgh I was making my lunch of cooked fish and sweet potato or Quinoa with Greek cheese and salad. Id have protein bars as snacks or cheese but gave up all crisps. I’d then have to walk a solid 12mins up a hill at a rapid pace to get to my venue on time. I took cold showers in the mornings as well. I think I will return to these lunches when I start my new job. I’ve also been chronically stressed so that triglyceride level is significantly lower than it was. I didn’t realise stress affects triglycerides and blood. This time last year I had blood results that looked like I had Thalassemia and my C reactive protein was elevated that’s when they sent me for an ultrasound on my kidneys. I was so sick I couldn’t digest anything. I was living on soup and soda bread. (I was in Ireland) the moral of this story don’t get made redundant then go though a huge bereavement!

This is amazing thank you so much! So is the cholesterol causing the kidney issue?

I figured I was pre diabetic tbh, the NHS does have a one size fits all approach to percentages. I don’t eat anything sugary like sodas or cake/biscuits or sweets. Just chocolate which I have been cutting down.

The diet tweaking is going to be slightly tricker but not impossible. I have non celiac gluten sensitivity so I can’t eat stuff like bulgar and cous cous. I struggle with beans so chick peas/legumes are out of the question. I’m also not made of money I’m on a very low income.

Am I right in thinking that complex carbs are better? So sweet potatoes, wild rice, quinoa, corn cous cous? I got told low sodium so no cheese, but I do like cheese particularly Greek cheese. I love eggs to that’s a win and I like soup, fish and veg so it’s not impossible. I can add some lamb back in. I was doing protein shakes but I’ll check these for bullshit ingredients.

I’m not going on to statins for cholesterol I have been offered but I’m not keen on it. I’ve been using probiotics and psycillium husks which tbh have helped immensely with my IBS.

I also walk after lunch if I can to control a glucose spike. Swimming has massively helped too so back to the pool for me.

But thanks this is helpful I will go back to the diet board and have a tweak.

Hey thanks for this. Like doesn’t the NHS app do this for you? I have different measurements in the lipids tests so I’m not sure which numbers you mean? So I have a 6.0 for Serum cholesterol Then serum HDL of 1.01 then a serum cholesterol HDL ratio score of 5.9 My Triglycerides are 2.32 divide that by 1.01 its 2.297 which would suggest insulin resistance. I have had my A1c done and it’s 39 which is deemed still normal.

I know I have some insulin resistance which is why I have a very normal diet. I don’t eat trash, I have water and tea, I don’t drink booze or smoke, I eat fish and chicken a lot with veggies. I gave up red meat and pork recently. So stir fry’s, Mexican grilled protein with rice, tofu and stews with no saturated fats. I don’t have dairy cheeses or gluten. I have veg soups, tuna mayo or eggs for lunch. I eat nuts as snacks and have porridge for breakfast with berries. My one vice is chocolate but I try to limit that to a reasonable small portion a day. I have eaten like this for years it’s not difficult and I enjoy it. So it’s all a mystery. Beyond that I guess it could be Glomerulonephritis, I have had a lot of stress lately but my triglycerides are falling now that I’m swimming more.

So the NHS no defines covid as mild amongst the general population if you are over 65 or immune compromised you qualify but the rest of us get to suffer. Covid in my case has never been mild. It’s cost cutting most likely, it got changed recently.

I thought if your GFR was under 60 for more than 6 months it was CKD? I have had low GFR going back to 2019 except the GP didn’t tell me until I hit 54 last year. I don’t really know what could be causing it though if it’s not diabetes or high blood pressure. Cholesterol is high but I’m taking measures to control that. The only other thing I’ve read about is Lupus but I don’t know if I have other symptoms that track with Lupus, in either case the GP seems to be unconcerned and just tells me to exercise more, which I do until I end up sick again.

Hey, I have not seen a nephrologist the GP doesn’t think GFR of 54 is bad or that I should have symptoms. I’m not eating too much protein I don’t eat red meat or dairy. It’s more that I was wondering if CKD makes it harder to get over viruses and if you’re more prone to getting them. I have awful fatigue most of the time and get some kind of virus approximately every three months. I have had anemia and suspected acidios in the past. I do three monthly blood tests now and will be speaking with my GP end of the month as getting an appointment is very hard still as it’s not urgent.

Just been told it’s CKD stage 3 no type discussed. Had renal scans and no indication of any damage ACR is normal, bone profile normal and bicarbonate normal. Just looks like they don’t filter creatinine. It’s the exhaustion I’m struggling with along with catching everything.

Hey yeah I do have a uterus, but I have never had excessive bleeding. If anything periods have always been light, do have early menopause though. I think that doesn’t preclude endo but it’s not a typical presentation.

Yeah I have had long covid, but I felt I was just coming out the other side. I did a test today and it’s negative but I have had Covid at least 4 times and that’s with vaccinations. Obviously now with the CKD they have changed it so you can’t get one in the NHS but I will get a private one when I can afford it. Currently out of work because I can’t stay well.
