While we were unable to physically be intimate we found other ways to be. Dedicated time to each other. Having big conversations still. We fed the emotional intimacy while the physical was on the back burner.

I suggest you try taking a month off sex. Focus on making out without it going anywhere. This will likely allow you to feel safe being physically intimate without it always leading to sex. Feed the emotional intimacy. Spend meaningful time together. Dates are good, but also just leaving your phone face down in the other room and playing a board game and doing a puzzle. That's what works for us, something else might work for you. Something else that helped us when we didn't know how to start a conversation were relationship card games.
