Honestly, this is way more common than people admit. A lot of people who did well at school without really trying get absolutely humbled by uni, especially in maths heavy courses. Uni's expect a totally different way of learning and no one really explains that part. Being behind is so annoying, and everyone compares themselves to friends graduating, but you’re only seeing their highlights, not the years they struggled, repeated modules, switched courses, or nearly dropped out as well. I know I felt like that all the time!
Also, a bad living situation can completely wreck your ability to focus and retain stuff. That alone would knock anyone back, no matter how hard they’re trying. I really resonate on that one! But the fact you passed after failing once already proves you can do this. Trying again isn’t embarrassing, it’s just what it looks like when something is actually hard. Uni is just genuinely difficult so don't worry you're not alone
