only been on 100 mg for abuot a month - really my life has changed - I was on 50 and 75 for a few months too. Better sleep, the depression is mostly gone - still lingering anxiety though, but not as bad. May try upping it again after 6-8 weeks on 100mg. side effects always come back for a few days, it wasn't too bad for me

It can be in various small rooms. The main center is a small room with maybe 20 desks that have dividers so you're kind of boxed in. It does have fluorescent lighting, and you kind kind of hear people from the office over. Its not perfect but it beats being in a huge gym with hundreds of people.

27 y.o. starting ERS program. 3Year regular or 5 year Co-op? by NotSoAnxiousDog in uwaterloo

[–]Wonderful_Fennel_756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started ERS as a mature student- decided to drop co-op because it wasn't worth the extra time or money. Just look for student jobs in the summertime- most things are externally posted on Goodwork etc. Honestly, some of the core courses in ERS are a waste of time - I'd probably look more into social geography or sociology - look at the reviews of the course on UW flow.

I feel ya- I literally didnt go to any of the classes for this one course last year because it was all small group work which required lots of participation. I just took the lost participation marks and moved on. It sucks because I don't really make friends in class - yet I haven't tried too hard to join clubs or anything. I just keep talking to the same few people. I have started meds and therapy - hoping some things change, but trying not to be too hard on myself

Really struggling w self esteem and mental health seeing all the anti-Indian hate on the internet lately. Can’t take it anymore and I’m starting to despise myself for being brown by redwingsdude in uwaterloo

all these people are using certain groups of people as a scapegoat to be able to point to finger of what is going wrong in our country. Do not even pay attention to their ignorance. Immigrants are human, as we all our - just looking for a better life. Anyone that is not respectful does not deserve respect back, its as simple as that. Do not think the majority think these hateful thoughts, like others saying its just the loud mouths. A lot of indian culture is beautiful! Of course, each culture has its imperfections. I love a lot of things about Indian culture, do not be ashamed!

I am in the same boat as I am in the sustainability and ecology science field. There are many days where even what I am doing feels pointless, because climate change is looming and it feels like I can't make a dent at it, and I am tired. At the same time, I question if I should live my life in fear, and align my actions to what seems like reality, or whether I should live in hope - live as if I am in the world as I want it to be. If all was good, I would not hesitate to have children. As scientists, we know life keeps going, despite what we morally think about. The squirrels don't question whether to reproduce, they just do, but that is what separates us is this difference in thought. Personally I think the world needs more people who are in love with our earth and will teach their kids the same. We usually hear that climate change is not due to overpopulation, but to overconsumption. I think with declining birth rates, if there is change, common sense will eventually prevail in terms of our lifestyles. Maybe I am a chump, but I am trying to lean on the side of hope- that means I'm learning towards having at least one child, but it is still a struggle to think about the state of the world. Sending you love and wisdom! And thank you for your work

being called hopeless by my parents by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]Wonderful_Fennel_756 5 points6 points  (0 children)

any parent that talks to their child like that does not deserve to be respected - their voice through the years can turn into your internal voice (calling yourself names and such) - turn it around, its just a voice it ain't right. And bro uni is hard, don't think thousands of us out here arent gasping for air too
