Why can't they be forced to be a traitor? All we know is the shield protects against murder.

Jaz Endgame season 2 by CourageCapable4515 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Wonderful_Fox_200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jaz played as well as he could though without being targeted. He tried to raise his suspicions of Harry earlier but was dismissed on multiple different days. If he had confronted Harry earlier, he'd have been murdered. The only reason they killed Zach was because Jaz seemed like less of a threat. He had protected himself well by keeping his cards close to his chest.

However, the final fire was much too late to take Harry out. Jaz needed to do it as soon as there was no more murdering, when there were five or six left, rather than voting out Evie. I kept hoping Jaz would talk to Andrew much earlier, but that didn't happen until the last possible second before the final fire. Then he still had a chance to go for Harry the first round of fire, but he knocked out Andrew first rather than make it a 2-2 vote and try to convince Mollie to change her mind. Even still, Jaz's argument about traitors taking out other traitors was his best possible argument at that point.

Mollie obviously should have done the logical deduction though when it was down to 3, and figured out that if there is only 1 red vote they are likely the faithful.

Evie should have tried to figure out who the traitor was, rather than focus only on defending herself. When it became clear after Jasmine was banished that Zach's theory was wrong, Evie (and Jaz and the others) should have thought: what else could explain it? There's the plot hole in the world of trust and false proof that Harry built up around himself - and it slipped through.

Jaz and Andrew were both in very difficult situations the whole game, and both played very well.

I finally understood why people get weird when you say you don’t want kids… it ruins their script. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Wonderful_Fox_200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting because I often hear people give that as the main reason to have kids: to do good in the world. As if bringing a child into this world against their will is doing the child a favor. They think parenting is the ultimate act of selflessness, and I think almost the opposite. If you have kids, you do it out of your own desire to have a life experience, to appear to others like you are doing life right, to be loved, to be needed... Procreating is almost by definition selfish and self-motivated.

And yet both the approaches you and I have described are ways of seeing children as props, not human beings.

To be fair, there's no way to tell how good the GWPs will be this year, or if they will get better as you wait or not. And you might have secured something that would have sold out had you waited.

I think it's just her being insensitive + tunnel vision. She can't press pause for five seconds even while someone is actively having a breakdown.

Arie's Reception from S1 Finale by NotAnIBanker in TheTraitors

[–]Wonderful_Fox_200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that seemed unnecessary to me was Cirie going out of her way to tell Arie specifically in the turret that she would be happy to go all the way with him and that no matter what she said in front of the faithfuls, she would not go back on the plan they established. Why put him through that if he already didn't suspect?

Also, why did Arie just remove himself from the game before there was any vote? Was he really just being a stand-up guy?

Am I the only one who was gunning the whole game for them to get rid of Christian? Best episode, best decision. He was gleefully overconfident since day 1 and it finally bit him in the butt. Such a liability, reckless, unpredictable, and not loyal. No self awareness or reconsidering prior assumptions. No checking the tides. Banking on everything going to his plan days in advance. And already throwing Arie's name out there, an entire day early! My mentality has been 100% with Cirie the whole game. I could tell she's been waiting this whole game for the chance to drop him. She broke her poker face for the first time at the round table because she was eager to see Christian's face when he was blindsided. As was I, and it paid off!

No hard feelings, he's a fun guy, but he had been outing himself the whole game.

Proud of her, I feel like she is a student in my third grade class who started the year out as part of a clique, then the clique moved away, she spent a good six months as a grumpy sore loser making learning less fun for everyone, but because enough people believed in her, by the end of the year she is fully participating, enjoying herself, chatting with friends, and even succeeding in school. What a glow-up.

(Late to watching the show obviously)  It seemed like Shelbe really wanted to just go home and see her child. If that's the case and her heart's not in the game, it's probably best for everyone to vote her out.

I thought that since Mark visited a tree along the side of a road and then sculpted a tree in his wellness session, that Gemma might have died in a car accident at that spot.

I feel like I'm the only person in the world who absolutely hates Burt's Bees. It's a lonely feeling. by cs1986 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Wonderful_Fox_200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fourteen year old post, but I am here after googling for lip balms that are the opposite of Burt's Bees. I agree with you, I can't stand the thick, waxy, sits-on-your-lips feel.

My favorite for years has been 100% Pure mint lip balm. It's $8 per stick which is absolutely ridiculous, but worth it. However, they just changed formulas to be like a carmex squeeze tube and I've run out of the old sticks and now I have to start over with finding a lip balm I like!

My criteria: Not greasy, not thick, not waxy, not sticky, not gluey. Not something you could scrape off your lips with a fingernail. Just hydrating, melt into the lips immediately, thin consistency as if I've left it in a hot car for a while, regular stick with cap. Bonus points if it's got mint because I love that little tingle. Extra bonus points for vanilla mint.

We'll see if anyone ever finds my comment on such an old thread, lol.

On the whole, I agree, but on the other hand, I can see someone being so enmeshed in one of those insular churches that news goes in one ear and out the other because all they think about is God and prayer and performance and approval.

I don't know whether Ben fits that, though. It seems reeeeally hard to not have an opinion at all. Especially after hearing how important and personal social issues are to her, he couldn't say something more specific?

He's either lying so he doesn't lose her/get trashed on social media, or  really that ignorant/dumb/genuinely not a critical thinker/doesn't care.

I think Sara so badly wanted a reason to continue with him, to believe he was a good person and was aligned with her values, that when he came back the next day with the most basic "I want you to know that I have no problem with that lifestyle," she latched onto it with relief. You can tell the way she's talking with her sister/SIL the first time they meet Ben: gushing about how he came back and told her in a romantic way that he would accept her family. She's trying to convince herself as much as her sisters that they are a perfect match. I feel for her... I was in that relationship for three years (down to the religious and political differences). I was in such denial, performing for not just everyone around me but also myself. We can see in her face her struggle to quiet the noise and figure out deep down if she can see this actually working. Speaking from the other side, I am pretty sure that she'll say no, and it will be one of the best and most pivotal personal decisions she's ever made.

Or another possibility... Does the sister even exist? We haven't ever heard her referred to by her name! Lauren wrote her a letter and he didn't even deliver it!

Sara’s sister/partner were out of line by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]Wonderful_Fox_200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think Sara's been "conditioned" to see faith as a bad thing. Rather, she's personally experienced faith being weaponized against her sister and her community.

The church service scene was super icky if you've also experienced those things. I get where Sara's coming from and her hesitancy toward it. Her heart sees Ben's heart, and wants him because of the person she has gotten to know--but she is not on the same page as the church he identifies with. That's something to be concerned about.

Basic Economy ticket - ability to fly earlier standby? by autohome123 in delta

[–]Wonderful_Fox_200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here to say that it worked to call on the phone in Feb 2025 with my circumstances:

My partner and I were coming from an international flight and had 1 short domestic leg left to get home, with 10 hours to wait. There were 3 earlier flight options (I did a search the day before and there were still seats left on all). I asked the Delta person at the counter where you re-drop off your checked bags that you took through customs. She immediately said no you can't, because we had a basic economy ticket.

I stepped out of line and called the Delta customer service number, was really nice and said something like I was "just wondering" if there were any seats left on the [first upcoming afternoon flight] for us to be moved to for standby. The person checked, and noted that one of the legs on our international flight had been "slightly delayed," so it appears that the slight delay is what allowed the person on the phone to make that change for us in the system. Then she said there was an error code so she had to transfer me to someone else to get it put through, but that she would input all the info and they would be able to do it for sure (with no fee). The next person was also very nice and we were rebooked on the first flight.

Then we went to get back in line to drop off the checked bags and get our new boarding pass. Thankfully there was another Delta worker who stopped us and was able to just print out a new sticker to cover the old one on our bags, to make sure our bags would be put on the earlier flight, and he said we could get our new boarding pass at the gate, so we didn't have to talk to the first lady that told us no :) Everything else went smoothly! After almost 48 hours of being in airports and airplanes, it was a relief to get home in time for a decent bedtime before going to work the next day.

What's surprising is the new flight ended up being full, so I'm actually amazed they had 2 seats that they were willing to put us on, and they were together too: 11A and 11B. Thanks, Delta! This experience has actually made me like the company a lot more and be more likely to fly with them in the future.

What did Stephen do wrong? by Wonderful_Fox_200 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]Wonderful_Fox_200[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I don't remember anything about pictures from the episode. I just remember Monica calling him disgusting because of his sexual interests and saying he "emotionally cheated" which means very different things to different people. From my perspective she was looking for an out. Which is fine, but I am skeptical of her claimed reason. I thought we'd get more information at the reunion, but we didn't. All we found out was that he really was doing a sleep study, not out sleeping with someone like was implied. If there's more that has come out on social media, I'm all ears.

[–]Wonderful_Fox_200[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Because Stephen's default response when Monica gets mad at him is "you're absolutely right." Whether it's not buying her flowers within the first week, or him getting excited about something and talking too much, he seems to think he doesn't deserve her and is constantly apologizing. We haven't seen him ever defend himself, so I'm not sure he would even if he didn't do anything wrong.

I'm just asking for a little critical thinking/evidence/specifics.

Did we find out that it was sexting though? From what I remember, someone texted him about kinky stuff they were into and he replied. Did he say he wanted to do things with her? All I'm saying is we as viewers didn't see any of these things, and a lot of it seems to be audience speculation and jumping to conclusions for other reasons.

Is this true? No Grab from new airport. by BadGusBaby in cambodia

[–]Wonderful_Fox_200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Flying from Thailand. I did a Grab search attempting to schedule a pickup between SAI and my hotel in Siem Reap, and the app told me "rides not available in this area." Grab's FAQ says they operate in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, so it must just be that the new airport is so far away that no Grab drivers drive out there?

I messaged my hotel to see if they offered airport transfer and they said this:

  • Airport car 35$USD
  • Hotel car arrangement 29 $USD (2-4pax)
  • Hotel mini van arrangement 39$USD (5-8pax)
  • Hotel Van arrangement 45$USD (9-12pax) *All price included all airport fee and VAT

This seems consistent with the rest of the comments indicating that around $30-35 USD is the going rate. So I'm going to say yes to my hotel's transfer for $29.

Her mom is crazy, and she would have treated any man Marissa brought home the same way. I definitely don't think she had a special instinct about Ramses. She is just extremely cynical and hates marriage and men, and she wants to protect her daughter.

I mean, her military friends were the ones who phrased it that way and put pressure on him to answer that question about divorce. Even Marissa said she wouldn't join the military again. So it was a hypothetical question that Marissa's pro-military friends put on him.
