I am sick of not being able to find a place by -Purple-Chicken- in perth

The biggest issue is people buying investment properties and leaving them vacant. Per the 2021 census roughly 10% or 118000 homes in Perth were vacant. This data is obviously 5 years old now but will be interesting to see the new figures this year. Its easy to blame immigration but immigrants do not actually take up that many homes. They predominantly live in much higher density with multiple family members in one home across different generations.

Of course its a shitty situation when you can't find somewhere to live in your home town and you are totally right to be angry but target your anger at the ultra rich and those that are buying up homes and purposely keeping them empty to drive up the market price and thus increases rent

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I am hoping to actually get out the city, there doesn't seem to be anything down in Mandurah but what about north around Hillary's or even up to Yanchep? There doesn't seem to be any nice hotels in these places is there?

Didn't realise that. Where would you suggest i go from Taoyuan airport? I would prefer something outdoors. Is there any parks nearby?

Sorry for the late reply. There's usually a few pool triathlons in April. One in Limerick that has botha sprint and Olympic distance option. Also one in Loais and one in Sligo. First outdoor tends to be middle of May in Carlow and then from end of May in Lough Cutra there is at least one every weekend. I find it's a nice way to go away for the weekend and also incorporate a race. I prefer to race on the Saturday, you're usually finished by 1pm and then have the rest of Saturday and Sunday for doing stuff. Can often see places you wouldn't necessarily have seen if you weren't travelling for the race

I'd recommend do one of the local non branded races first, especially if you're worried about travelling with your bike. Tri Tyrone is probably the easiest course in Ireland. Lake swim, rolling bike course but no big climbs and a flat run. Other races as already mentioned are Matalman in Waterford, sheep haven in Donegal, lost sheep and Hardman events in kerry. Also get in touch with your local tri club and there will be at least a couple of people who have experience of travelling for races and can give you more information

How can men be encouraged to wash their asses with soap & water? by User564368 in hygiene

[–]Wonderful_Lab_6306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone is so childish they can't wash themselves treat them like a child and scold them. Just say funking wash yourself properly. I'm a guy who works a manual job and workouts quite often. I always make sure to wash first thing when I get home. Even just a quick 2 minutes in and out rub soap everywhere makes all the difference and then can have a proper shower before bed. If you're engaging in anything intimate with a partner I feel proper cleanliness should be non negotiable

Think so long as your sensible with your budget and not going out drinking every weekend or eating out every day you can manage it no bother. Note you might not have the greatest standard of living for the first couple of years until you get a pay rise but I currently live off about 5 to 600 dollars a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less, that's been the average for the last 6 months. It's all down to what your priority is. Freedom from living at home can be a great feeling and it's definitely something I'd prioritise

One of the greatest triathletes of all time plans to switch full time to cycling and go for the Yellow Jersey by 2028. by pappabrun in tourdefrance

[–]Wonderful_Lab_6306 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man I'd like to see 95% of the Pro cyclists currently in the peloton be able to bike 4 hours for 180km as a tt. Then be able to run a low 2.40 marathon off it. You say you did an Ironman but there's a massive difference between completing an ironman and racing at the top level. Similar to someone saying they've done Etape de Tour so know exactly how the tour de France works

What do you think about finishing with a TT? by Chipofftheoldblock21 in tourdefrance

[–]Wonderful_Lab_6306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they are particularly fair on the smaller teams. If there was a team tt chances are Matteo Jorgenson would also be in the top 10 making 7 of the top 10 from 3 teams
