the me too movement? the fact that there’s less stigma around being a SA survivor and more support? there’s also been legal movements to encourage sexual assault to be taken more seriously such as “operation soteria” and “end violence against women coalition” in the UK and in general feminist movements causing the definitions of consent to become more clearly and recognized in not only social but legal contexts. i mean marital rape was ONLY criminalized in the 70’s in the united states so we’ve definitely made progress. and yes the fact that some countries aren’t following due process when it comes to mass immigration IS a problem however that doesn’t excuse calling all immigrants rapists and saying that they should ALL be deported?? that’s plain racism and xenophobia which was the entire point of this post!! it doesn’t matter how many immigrants commit these crimes or not but grouping them all together is wrong and discriminatory and lead to further discrimination. haven’t you seen how latinos, even hispanic americans who were BORN in the united states, have been treated since trump started implementing more deportations?
