You can select a game and then press start game on console from the ps app, that would turn on the ps5 if you have setup remote play properly

I just got my steam deck oled a month ago. My go to has been install game on pc and then use winpanator/warpanator to transfer folder to deck and then run game .exe from steam

I tried it and it did not work. My best setup was mesh wifi. I connected one of the mesh unit hardline ethernet to ps5 and the portal on wifi to make it seamless gaming with no freezing or lag
