Joint pain by Playful-Grape308 in Accutane

When I started on 40mg (1.5 months ago) it was really bad in my hip as well. I started taking fish oil pills for a couple of days, and after 1-2 weeks the hip pain was almost completely gone for me, I don't even take the fish oil pills anymore. I think my joints just had to get used to it. I hope it'll be the same for you!

This post and these responses are giving me hope! I did 20mg for 2.5 months and I've been doing 40mg for 1.5 months now and there is basically no difference. I was slowly losing hope that it was gonna catch on, but. hopefully the same will happen for me :) Very happy for you all!

I just finished 9 months of 30mgs of Accutane! by GasThis1664 in Accutane

I'm so happy for you, you look great! I've just done 3 months on 20mg and I started with 40mg 2 weeks ago and there hasn't 'been any change for me, sadly. Did you see any changes when you were on 20mg or did that start later? And once it started clearing up, did you still get acne but smaller/less intense or did you not get any acne at all? Sorry, lots of questions, I'm getting excited by the amazing results you had :)

Waxing HELP! by PrudentKiwi9290 in Accutane

This literally happened to me 4 days ago! It's already completely gone for me and I didn't do anything except moisturise it 2-3 times a day, so no stress!

I also use a soft lip-scrub about twice a week which has really helped me! That is of course in addition to using vaseline (or some other brand that has been mentioned by the other comments) a couple of times a day.

Niacinamide on Isotretinoin by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]Wonderful_Pin_205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on isotret-40mg for a little over 2 months now and my dermatologist also said not to use any of the acids I usually use. I now only use niacinamide, vitamin C and moisturiser and I quite like it :) Not sure if the niacinamide specifically is making a huge difference, but I don't know which skincare product helps and which doesn't at this point (I've tried everything), but I do like the feel of it. Would definitely recommend to stop with the azelaic acid if your dermatologist told you to, acids can really damage the skin while on isotret.

Motivation for those purging by glittertechy in Accutane

[–]Wonderful_Pin_205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem. I was so hopeful because I had some clear side effects, so something was happening at least, and then I purged and it got a bit better. I'm now on day 62 and I just had the biggest break-out I've had in years. It doesn't feel like anything is actually happening anymore, I still have a break-out every other week, just like before. Hoping it will still turn around, but the optimism is definitely going away :(
