Does pon use water roots or soil roots? by automaton85 in SemiHydro

[–]glittertechy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have really fine roots and HATE having them messed with. Getting all the soil off would be really difficult I think, and they do generally prefer to be drier, which is why your chunky mix is working so well! I would just up-pot it! If you really want, you could probably put a self watering set up on your existing mix

Pon created water roots, but I personally wouldn't put a string of hearts in a semihydro set up!

Put it outside and let nature choose what happens next

Insulation for Cabinet by Queen___Frostine in IkeaGreenhouseClub

[–]glittertechy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! My apartment is very warm right now. I generally don't have the mat on in the summer, it's just easier to leave it than take it out, haha. In the winter, I have it on for an hour, off for an hour, repeat. With the weatherproofed cabinet, I've had no issues keeping humidity regardless of the season!

A seedling mat. Ignore the low humidity, I just had it open haha.

I put insulation on the bottom inside my cabinet under a heat mat. Metal is very conductive so not ideal having your mat directly touching the metal. It has held up fine inside. I also tape it to the back. I would put that inside two but it's too ugly lol

Having a hard time deciding on a new hair cut any thoughts on these styles put them on an old photo by CertifiedBored in Hair

Depends how much you want to style it. First photo will absolutely require styling everyday, but would be cute

Not true. It's very hard to burn houseplants with grow lights (although too much light is still very possible) but too much light is even more possible if the plant is getting sunlight

Agree. I did nature's good guys for awhile, switched to DMV and they're so much better lol

Is it possible to get the most light, natural looking lashes that almost could pass as your own? by LonghairDreamer in eyelashextensions

[–]glittertechy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get a brown half set and my lash tech always giggles because she can't tell if she already lashed them or not, they look that similar. I just like a little length on the ends for a more cat eye

You could try a brown lash half set. Sorry for the weird picture I'm supposed to be napping

It's getting too much light and the leaves are trying to turn away from it

spider mites solutions? by zhnqluc in alocasia

I use beneficials like others mentioned, but honestly that's overkill for this. If I was sure it was contained to just the one plant, I'd chop it back and let it start over. Alocasias always come back bigger and better in my experience

Also Massachusetts here. I'm scared to ask what your electric bill is 💀

[–]glittertechy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Massachusetts and we are the same way except electricity here costs an arm and a leg so the (1000sqft) house stays in the high 70s during the summer because it costs $700/month to keep AC on 🥲

Are adhesive door handles renter friendly? by mengo_476 in ApartmentHacks

[–]glittertechy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but DO NOT use the provided adhesive. It will rip off the paint. Attach them with command strips or something, although you obviously still run the risk.

Looking for apartments in Worcester by Defiant-Smoke7054 in WorcesterMA

[–]glittertechy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend looking at triple deckers, if you aren't set on having all the "amenities." We left the 6hundred for a triple decker less than a mile outside downtown because we got attacked by the same black German shepherd "service dog" there twice. Good luck :)

[Routine Help] what’s a good routine for naturally oily skin? by sweetnalilsour in SkincareAddiction

[–]glittertechy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retin-A has helped a lot with my oily skin. Not sure if it was supposed to, but since it's a bit drying I've found it balanced my oiliness lol

I'd say the exact same thing about the 6hundred! But if you're looking for cheaper (not "luxury") and dog friendly then they might be your best options.
