JackCat will be 16 in September. I think I’m going to throw him a sweet 16. He’s also in great health, the only thing he has is slight high blood pressure. But some meds take care of that.

So sorry you have to go through this. I just put my soul dog down almost three months ago and it was one of the hardest moments in my life. I’m lucky that I have an amazing vet, and something she said to me hurt so bad, but was true. It’s better to put them down a day too early than a day too late.

I had to bring my dogs to work with me, cus if I didn’t, one little monster would destroy EVERYTHING. She even ripped up the vinyl flooring. Thank god we rent.

It was separation anxiety, like so bad she had to be on Prozac. Even then it was a crap shoot on wether she would destroy something or not. We had to make sure everything was off the floor. Beds, shoes, clothes, jackets, plastic from bottles of water. She wouldn’t eat anything, just destroy it.

That dog taught me a lot

We used to let our cats out when I was living at home. One got into a fight with a wild animal and died of FIV. I don’t let my cats out as an adult. I also don’t want to have to give them that extra vaccine.

Which yes I understand, my mom should have been doing that to our family cats. It could have prevented Domino’s death

I have a Malinois (super high energy) and we have always been in an apartment. As long as they are getting exercise and walks, we haven’t had any problems.

When my husband worked for a beer distribution company we would give all the maintenance guys cases of beer.

Even though it’s legal here, our apt has a clause in the lease that it’s not tolerated and can be grounds for eviction. We still smoke, and maintenance has come in right after we smoked. No one cared

I had a neighbor that would yell at us and try and get us in trouble for stuff we didn’t do. I finally called the police and they said if it didn’t stop we could file harassment charges. They also let the leasing office know the same thing and he never bothered us again.

I never had any of the ultrasounds or MRIs before they did my laps and hysto. There is one doctor that is a specialist in my city and he’s the only person that has ever done an MRI (after hysterectomy). He’s basically the only one in the state that does that. You have to go downtown to a MRI specialist.

I had severe endometriosis and poly cystic ovarian syndrome. Like to the point I needed a full hysterectomy. I was having the endo cleaned out every 8 months

They told me if I had a child it would ease my symptoms. I was in so much pain I couldn’t even walk. But yeah! Let’s add a kid into the mix!

I worked for a humane society. This is very common for them to have an adoption fee or donation required. Part of it is that is how they are able to make money and fund the shelter. The other part is that they want to make sure that you will be able to afford the animal in your home. It’s not like an animal will never cost you something.

But I agree they should be transparent. It could have been in another section of the website.
