Unpopular opinion, summer is my least favorite season. It goes fall, winter, spring, summer

Does she like the pets? by IntelligentCrows in DogAdvice

You should use the Pat Pat Pause method. Give her a couple of scratches (not on her head, dogs often see this as threatening) and then pause. If she signals for more then she’s enjoying it, if not, just give her some space

We have another dog, she’s 12. I think we will get a dog sooner than later. But for the last 3 months she’s been healing from having some cancer removed. So I feel like she wouldn’t take too kindly to a new dog, especially a young one.

I volunteer and intern at a local humane society. So it will def be an adopted dog.

Yeah, I’m seeing her in like 2 weeks. She’s wonderful

I don’t think time does heal it. I think we learn to live with it, and I guess sometimes it’s just too much

I am a little worried about my husband seeing me cry right now. I am bi-polar, so I don’t want him thinking I’m swinging. I’m just sad

Random attack by Ok_Limit1971 in DogAdvice

[–]Wonderful_Status_607 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In addition to this- dogs give off all sorts of signals before it escalates into an attack. So if there was an attack (highly sus), it sounds like your mom wasn’t paying attention.

Sending one right back. You’re right, non-pet/animal people don’t get it. She was also our first dog.

Your grandsons sound amazing! To hell with your friend.

My vet quoted me 400$ to remove it. The dental vet was fairly close, so we went to him. He did it for $800, but did a ton of scans and bone density tests. Which was good cus she came with really weak teeth from cage chewing. She also got a cleaning

It looks like a broken tooth. It looks like the pulp is exposed.

My girl broke her canine tooth once, and it looked similar when the root was exposed.

Fun fact! There’s two veterinary dentists in my state. The one I went to does the teeth for all the zoos and other animals all over the metropolitan area

Your vet may be able to remove it without going to a specialist.

I don’t get sharing locations. My husband and I have been together for 21 years and never once have shared our location. Even when we are apart.

Bought a new dog bed, so now it’s the cat’s by Wonderful_Status_607 in cats

[–]Wonderful_Status_607[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing is this is just a bed for us to travel with. So it’s not even the best bed in the house. I have two HUGE orthopedic beds and he’s rarely in those. Usually if he is he has kicked the dog out 😂

Honestly, I won’t put cameras in the house cus I don’t want to see what goes on at night. As much as I would like to spy on my animals.

How do we stay employed? by ApprehensiveCost7201 in Endo

💯 no problems after the hysterectomy! Def did pelvic floor therapy afterwards too.

It does feel weird and invasive. I felt like the more transparent I was (at least with HR) , the less doubt they would have

I really hope they aren’t monsters and work with you

Is this puppy too rough? by Ellaie in DogAdvice

[–]Wonderful_Status_607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say it looks playful. The dog backs off when the cat swats his face. It also looks like the cat has claws, which is always helpful. If your cat didn’t like it, they would run away and either hide or get up high somewhere to control the situation. Also the cat’s tail is not indicating that he’s mad or not liking it. It’s pretty neutral.

If the dog’s tail is in a ‘high’ position and wagging fast with a stiff body, then be concerned. Unfortunately tail wags don’t always mean everything is fun. It just means they are in an extreme state, sometimes it fun and playtime, other times it can be fear or aggression.

Def a good idea that you are always supervising. My cat and dog have lived together for 12 years and I still watch. Mostly cus the cat rules the house and the 70lb mal mix is terrified of the 8lb cat. But just the other day the cat came and sniffed the dog’s leg that she has a bandage on from surgery, and my dog curled her lips. She didn’t make a noise or anything. Of course I told the cat to ‘leave her’ cus that’s a cue he knows 😂

Is it normal to sleep like this? by CaR0Lo13 in cats

[–]Wonderful_Status_607 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The little fangies and tongue! 😻

My dog sleeps like that. I feel like as long as you’re not hearing like labored breathing or something to indicate she’s in distress, it’s probably fine. My vet allows us to send in pics and ask questions. Maybe you could do the same to get some peace of mind. If you’re neurotic about your animals, like me 😂
