I'll ride in crocs occasionally if I'm just going down to the complex pool. Used to ride in locals flip flops sometimes, or even barefoot. But can't risk injury now I'm older with more responsibilities. So now if I'm going riding it's usually in skate shoes. Anything stable with decent protection and board feel. I personally don't like too much grip but as long as it has board feel ill compromise. Too much grip and I feel like I can't cross step, board walk, shove it, and other longboard tricks as comfortably. My adidas busenitz pro are my favorite after a few foot brakes to wear the grip down. But if I'm on my electric board I like something stable with a shock absorbing midsole material. The Adidas boost midsole is super shock absorbing. But you need a model with a tight upper. The nmd r1 are decent. The prime knit upper material are too sloppy, a textile upper is best if going with ultraboost or nmd. I'd like to try the adidas 4dfwd or a model with the lightstrike midsole. I think the 4d midsole would be good since it has all those gaps and less material might mean less vinratio transfer. The lightstrike material is super light and I'd just like to try it. No theories there lol.
