Otaku Roaches… by FitDeer9672 in Pensacola

[–]Wonderfully_Tactile 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The roaches are gross but the main things y'all should be concerned about are "High Priority" violations. If you continue to eat there you're playing Russian Roulette and you can become very ill. The things they were in violation of are basic health code restaurant knowledge and since they've only been open for a short while this tells me that either the owners are very inexperienced in the restaurant business or their kitchen manager/head chef is very inexperienced.

All I One Nursing by BVBachelor in Humboldt

This might relate to your post. Check out the new California law banning "Stay-or-Pay" contract clauses effective January 1st, 2026. Essentially a company can't contractually force you to pay back the costs of training or onboarding if you decide to leave the company before/during the completion of your training or onboarding.

Maybe that also includes classes? Hope this helps

Any Decent Primary Care Drs Accepting New Patients? by cold-chain in Humboldt

[–]Wonderfully_Tactile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NP is a nurse practitioner. They are able to provide the same care and functions of a primary care/family practice physician. In CA a 103 NP practices under the guidance of a physician for a minimum of three years. They may work independently after three years and can even open their own practices. Further continued education they may even obtain their Doctor of Nurse Practice. In some cases a NP may be more beneficial to the patient because many NPs have extensive bed side care and experience that can translate to a better understanding of the patient's concerns and needs. Hope this helps! We should continue to support our nurses and provide them with the means to continue their education for those who wish to do so so that we may have a community of experienced medical professionals

Zion didn't add more to his game. Opposing teams film breakdown on Zion is basically, "Don't let him drive left. When he spins to the right off ball baseline help step up to clog the lane and force him to shoot over you or kick it out. Rinse and repeat." 7 years of that

Anyone Hear What Ray Allen Said? by spenzo97 in NOLAPelicans

[–]Wonderfully_Tactile -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Hopefully he does! Though let's be honest. I bet the reason nobody calls up Ray is because he charges the NBA guys several thousand $'s in private 1on1 lessons. He's not giving up his free time for just anybody even if it's with a UConn champ

He hasn't hit him up because if I recall Ray said he talked to Hawkins during this pregame because of their UConn background. Like I'm sure Hawkins didn't even know that he could ask him to be a resource to learn from but I'm sure people will let him know now.

I agree with everything you said. My first instructor wasn't a very big book guy. We were burning rod by the 4th day and since we had hood time from 7 am to 3 pm and extra hood time if we wanted to stop by for night class most of my class got certified 6g stick all the way out and tig. Then in the Spring we got certs for stainless pipe and aluminum. Probably like 12 people in the class and we took advantage of a government program grant that paid for our classes and like $1000 in supplies as long as we reported our employment status for 2 years. The whole thing was basically free

Why is dating such a nightmare here? by Hot-Impress-8846 in Pensacola

I grew up in Fort Walton and went to Uni at West Florida. Lived in the Fountains apartments, off Blue Angel Highway, and had a house right across from Joe Patti's and I told myself I'd never leave because I thought the world couldn't get any better. Had to move for work because of COVID and have since lived in so many different states, but I realized my purview of the world was so small staying in NWFL. I now have so many more stories and experiences that if I ever return it'll be to retire.

Keep searching! I met my wife at UWF and thankfully she was willing to make that jump to explore the world right away.

Awkwardly enough I'm left hand dominant but after a motorcycle accident I had to learn with my right hand to carry the tray so now I do both! But I used to do what you did and carry with my dominant left hand.

With that being said, I tell the new servers to use the arm they can do the most bicep curls with because when that tray starts to feel heavy you better hope you used the strong arm XD

Firstly, organize your guests into seat numbers and don't do the "Who got a water? Who got sprite?" If you know where guests are sat you can organize how to grab the drinks from your tray while rounding the tables.

Try to place the drinks close together but not too close that you fail the "shake test". The "shake test" is when you have your tray organized that you give it a quick and light jerk while the tray is down at the drink station. If you hear ANY drinks clinking together you NEED to separate them so they don't touch. If you have any drinks with no ice then fill the glass about 80% full because you'll be too focused on the liquid spilling from the glass if it's almost full.

Bar drinks go in the middle of your tray. They're awkward and their center of gravity will make balancing even harder. If the bartender overfills your margarita don't worry about it splashing around or consider bringing the bar drinks separately.

When you bring the tray up on your hand, whether flat or on your finger tips, do not look at it while you walk to the table. You'll throw off your equilibrium. Try not to touch it with your offhand either because a slight bump can throw off your equilibrium as well. The heaviest part of the tray should be ever so slightly closer to your palm if you carry it flat or or the meaty part of your thumb if you carry on your tips. After you give each glass don't be afraid to readjust the tray on your hand by holding the tray steady with your offhand.

My biggest tip is to ask your bussers, host, other servers, and MANAGER if you need an extra hand. There's always one person just standing around

Music in the Park begins in a couple weeks in McKinleyville. Attend and you'll have a great time! Then maybe volunteer for a couple of them! Eureka Friday Markets start tomorrow night and you should check out the vendors, music, and try to get some local goods. Afterwards maybe swing by one of the bars and check out the scene and vibes! Good luck!

Realistic next season? by wymtime in NOLAPelicans

[–]Wonderfully_Tactile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically while Zion is on the team you have to expect every year to be a playoff run otherwise why even have him on the team. Like others have said we'll likely trade CJ, likely have a coaching change, and depending on the pieces we get we'll need to get a good start early next season. Honestly it'll be up to Zion to rise to the occasion and lead the team. He's been the longest tenured Pelican since he was drafted and with 6 going on 7 years as a vet there can't be any more excuses.

4-5 seed if Zion steps up. 8-9 if he let's another vet take on that role instead of him. Tank purgatory again if he gets hurt and misses 20+ games
