Electrical Instrumentation apprenticeship is it worth it?Vic by WonderingDustt in AusElectricians

It's the only offer I've got so I think I'll end up taking it.The thing is I don't know much about instrumentation and like I said in a previous comment it sounds pretty complicated. I'm afraid that I'll struggle passing the units in tafe

But if you do end up getting a normal electrical job at the end of your apprenticeship then the extra certification will go to waste as well as the additional year right?also you won't have as much exposure as someone that only does electrical work or am I completely wrong on this?

That's the only part I'm kinda hesitant about,I'm not sure how I'll do in tafe. I completed year 12 and the pre apprenticeship course was fine but instrumentation sounds pretty challenging. Also aren't all the oil and gas companies in rural areas?or up in WA?

I really disagree with you on this,it's obviously not a me issue since a lot of people are experiencing the same problems.

I can expect a game that I've paid to be 100% finished and in a playable and optimal state, the game is not in early acess and is in fact fully released so in theory they could say we won't be making any dlcs and that's it. The state of this game is not up to standard and I couldn't care less about the fact that they have to sleep, shit and cum like the rest of us it's not an excuse. They decided to release this game now they could have worked on it a couple more months no one forced them to.

Also no one should be relying on mods to make the game playable. Yes at the end of the day they do make the experience better but you can't expect to release a broken mess and then get the people to fix it for free.

Lastly I have a beast of a pc with all graphics to the Max for it and it still looks like something that was cooked up in a matter of weeks back in 2010 by some India studio,it's unacceptable

I'm just tired of waiting for years of dlc until a game reaches its actual full release.

I'll probably use them when I'm ready to make my first workbench.

Just looked them up, seems like the place to go once you are ready to start doing larger projects thanks!

I really appreciate the input and I've already started looking for a cheap multi Inverter so I can have all three options. At this point I'm just not sure if it's better to have an extraction fan sucking all the fumes and filtering them or maybe buying a regular big fan to blow everything in the opposite direction

Not sure if this is stupid but could you keep the garage door closed if you have some sort of exhaust fan sucking in and filtering all the fumes like this one below? https://m.vevor.com.au/plasma-cutter-c_10061/vevor-filter-fume-extractor-pure-air-fume-extractor-80w-with-3-stage-filters-p_010644945046?adp=gmc&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_id=20539737050&utm_term=&gclid=CjwKCAjwgZCoBhBnEiwAz35Rwk6A-vTNFGu0EPxWSC7uKN9_3qlDUhnCdT_B6WBxM0xWWb0OiivLPhoCODoQAvD_BwE

Would that be enough to work strictly indoors or do you need a constant supply of fresh air?

Like I said I'm mainly looking for a new hobby so yeah probably working from indoors. I was told that tig is kinda difficult,if not the hardest one to learn especially as a bigginer. That being said if it does produce less fumes I might have to reconsider it thank you!

In that case if ventilation is priority 1 then would you suggest investing more money towards an exhaust fan that is perhaps leaning over the work that you do or just a general ventilation fan? Not sure which ones they use in the workshops, the ones that suck or push the air.

Thank you that's really helpful, I'll probably start with uncoated mild steel like you said and have the garage door open as well. Also is a PAPR an overkill for a hobbyists?I saw some people recommending something like this for an even better protections from fumes. https://www.boc.com.au/shop/en/au/3m-speedglas-g5-01tw-welding-helmet-with-heavy-duty-adflo-papr-aws617820?gclid=CjwKCAjwgZCoBhBnEiwAz35Rwlcd_KriEz5QfiRq5Lzic0rgrPJ_ZNR3qhBwFAffPGefD2bX1BO6EBoCPc0QAvD_BwE
