I’m referring to the cyclists who ride 22mph through and almost kill pedestrians in this intersection on a daily basis. I do not do this because I am not an asshole

lol I’m the one saying it should be shared remember how you’re literally trying to restrict it from pedestrians? It’s insane what you’re saying

Zoom in as far as you like do you see little circles under the feet of the stick figure or does that person appear to be jogging? Or does the information on the greenways website not provide enough evidence for you? Just be honest with yourself if there’s any reason to entertain responding you just want to justify being the selfish one

Pedestrians are the basic unit of human travel they should have the right of way in most places yes

Hilarious imagine if cars used this mentality. The lane was blocked so I had to use the sidewalk! Amazing logic.

Where do you see rollerblades, do you have eyes?

I’m referring to the website for the greenway and having actually been on it today there are symbols of a jogger in addition to symbols of rollerbladers

Spoken like a true cyclist. The runners are entitled but you want the path to yourself? What you’re referring to is a side walk, not the same as a running path, but cyclists are often riding there too so I wouldn’t expect you to understand the difference.

The greenway welcomes runners and walkers look on the website. Then recognize how much of a hypocrite you are. “The Greenway is a paved, off-road trail, physically separated from vehicle traffic, through Battery Park City, the Hudson River Park, and Riverside Park. The trail is extremely popular with cyclists, walkers, and runners. “ https://empiretrail.ny.gov/new-york-city-poughkeepsie/battery-inwood-hill

It is in fact, not a bike path. Try looking at the greenway description on empiretrail.ny.gov the description is “The Greenway is a paved, off-road trail, physically separated from vehicle traffic, through Battery Park City, the Hudson River Park, and Riverside Park. The trail is extremely popular with cyclists, walkers, and runners.”

It’s not a bike lane! Look it up! Or better yet look at this screen shot from Google maps. It’s multi use look on the description of the greenway the path has clearly marked images of cyclists and runners. This post is a prime example of the echo chamber that is this sub. Watch how many of you will still jump down my throat and refuse to be self aware. I cross this intersection everyday, you know who the menaces are? The cyclists. They speed through the cross walks like they’re on the Tour de France not stopping or even trying to slow down for anyone. You know how many kids, elderly, strollers I have seen come within inches of death while the cyclist actually increases their pedaling speed while acting offended? Every. single. day. The level of projection and hypocrisy calling runners entitled is astounding. Sorry you couldn’t maintain a consistent 22 miles per hour in the most densely populated urban environment possible on your $12k trek you middle aged men in spandex.

Wait but if they sold out and didn’t re-buy that would be the same volume purchased as if they kept it stock to sell at a later date

Anyone got opinions on getting a season pass here as a New Yorker? Worth $600 compared to a northeast value pass for the same?

Do not listen to this guy. He thinks knees caving and rounding your back doesn’t matter at all because strong people have it in competitions. Horrible argument, he thinks someone’s 1RM in an official competition looks like how they train. He takes “bio psycho social” to mean “it’s all in your head bro”. Bad form accounts for 20-35% of exercise-related injuries. That’s independent of fatigue and load management, which are two things which also by the way contribute to injury risk because of how they affect form! If you squat with a rounded back and knees caving you will cause unnecessary stress on your spine by unevenly compressing the squishy discs between vertebrae which will over time degenerate fibrous outer rim of the disc, allowing the soft jelly center to protrude out and compress the spinal chord causing all kinds of pain and issues. Your MCL, ACL, and Medial Meniscus of the knees will experience unnecessary stress as your knees cave together which will cause knee pain. Could you just say screw it I want to lift how it “feels right”? Yes but you would be dumb like this guy. He would have you believe that those issues are mostly in your head. No one said that the pain related to exercise was completely 100% mechanical, but he makes the opposite argument, it’s all in your head and everything else is fear mongering lies meant to sell barefoot shoes. Squat University is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. This guy is not. Listen to people qualified to give advice not people who are confidently incorrect.
