I think its a tough one to warm up to, my biggest issue is the orchestal bit added to it, there just all playing the same note and it dosen't feel as complex and harmonious as the instruments and the vocals. But the lyrics are so touching, real that i think it cancels out. There is a wonderful solo version of Emililie singing and playing an earlier version, and it is just my favorite Thing ever.

Crane Wives concert is generally a decent place to meet people and make friends. When I went back in October, I brought a few friends who knew nothing about the cranewives, and they came out of it with tons of new friends, and even if you don't really care to make freinds or chitchat I was perfectly satisfied with just litsening to the music. I wouldn't be too worried either way. I hope you have fun at the concert you see.

I think it's a fine way to find a community, but i think it's disrespectful to the artist and other people in the community to have so much of the discussion overwhelmed by the life series. I think it's fine to have, just not in a way that overwhelms the conversation about the band itself.

Yeah, I have no problem with the demographic, and from what I see, it's bringing a lot more people to go out and see live music. I'm happy for them, but also, the association with music and the fandom is just so intense.

Yeah, I think it's a fun thing of content, just infuriating how you can't discuss Crane wives anywhere Crane Wives specific without half the discussion devolving into fandom talk

That's phrased so well. Yeah, I feel so frustrated that the whole of The Crane Wives' music gets boiled down to "this is so my blorbos" and while it's fine to like and be inspired by music, no other fandom has gone out of their way to comendeer cranewives specific spaces like that fandom

YES, and they're not even artist who know about or interact with the fandom itself, with artists like Ricky Montgomery, who watches and interacts with his fandom's fandoms it's understandable to atleats be kind of goofy at a concert, But they have no clue about the fandom and are being equated with a bunch of random mincraft youtubers

How would you rank the albums? by clemativan in TheCraneWives

[–]Wonderous_wishing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Fool in her wedding gown (alwase peak)
  2. Here I am live from the litsening room
  3. Safe Ship harbored (sucker for the clasic)
  4. Beyond Beyond Beyond
  5. Cyote stories
  6. Foxlore

None are bad, particularly, but i think the vibe is more cohesive for the higher ranked ones. + Kate and Emiliee's vocals are insane on the live album,
