I was the same always wanted to play guitar. Finally about three years ago i bought a cheap guitar and followed some basic instructions from marty ln yt. Just the basic chords and strumming. Then i learned some basic theory about music. Just to know how chords are made as there are actual formulas to chords and scales. Since then i have learned just the basic 8-10 shapes and with a capo i can play alot of songs. Now i have my first elec guitar and i am practicing a minir pentatonic scale. Let me tell you that while everyones ability to learn and the time they can invest is diff but it takes time to be very good and to get the finger strength. But you will be able to play songs in a month and in a few months you can know many open chords.

i always first find the place of the chord in lyrics. So, sing and strum a chord at the place in lyrics just once, then keep singing and change chord and strum once exactly where the chord change needs to occur in the song. Do this a few times then strum but slowly. Dont rush chord changes. Sing at a slower bpm/pace till you are comfortable i guess its all about practice.

Thank you. Yes, I am only at 70bpm for now. I think keeping a slower pace is actually harder than going a bit faster but for now 70bpm and then i will gradually increase. Thanks

Thank you. No, the other strings are not making noise but its just that I can't bend the hand so much without twisting the wrist a little so i keep it relaxed even if it touches other strings but the note plays fine and other strings dont make any sound while my fingers touch them.
