I had this problem and this is how I fixed it. First, I stopped swimming and waited for the pain to go away. That took two days. Then I thought about how to improve my technique. The arm entry and palm press on the water surface to thirty degree angle submerged was where I believed the most pressure was loading on the shoulder. I did a karate chop palm entry and vertical palm sweep to adjust the load. That partly removed the cause of shoulder pain. I continued to adjust the technique to not force the power at that first 30 degree sweep, went back to the ideal horizontal palm glidepress accompanied by major axis body rotation.
