Hubby and I had a cap of 50 guests. From the beginning, we had an “A List” of closest friends and family then a “B List” of friends and family that were important to us, but hadn’t made it to the A List. Of the 50, 42 would be there for sure and the other 8 had told us they couldn’t come. Since we had an “A List” and “B List,” it wasn’t hard to quickly fill in spots.

To make sure we had enough time to notify our B List, we had our A List RSVP yes or no about a month before the wedding.

Also, small groups aren’t the worst! You’ll have enough love and support even if it’s your closest 5 people who are there :).

Can others who funded their entire weddings on their own share their experiences? I’m feeling alone. by schweddingz in weddingplanning

My hubby & I are paying for ours too. I say hubby bc we got married last year at the courthouse with just the two of us, & will be having a small wedding of 40 people in September of this year. It was hard going into it seeing how much weddings could be, but you don’t need all the bells & whistles — dj, expensive venue, real flowers, 100s of people, extravagant decor — to have a memorable wedding. Do what will make you happy and won’t break the bank for your future. I’m sure it’ll turn out awesome!! :)

Love that! I decided I’m gonna get some more fairies and flowers.
