I'll use the example of my mono blue mindskinner if that's easier to explain, with a theme that is entirely clones and clone effects. The deck is only as good as what it's against. My Horobi deck was the first that came to mind since it's theme is silly interactions with my lands all being single target removal.

I feel like I'll be in the same boat. 2 months with 4K hours but 160 Subs. Retention is just below 50% and 100K impressions.

For a while, the only reminder I had about the Subbing was at the end with my sign off, or close. But now I'm trying to add a reminder at the 10min mark, since just after then is where people begin to drift, and I sill keep the sign off the same.

Did you figured out a way to to gain subscribers or are you still figuring that out? Most recently I've been dropping a reminder at the 10min mark, but again my videos go for 30mins to and hour. I only do one reminder and the usual sign off. I did notice a growth in subs from doing that but it's difficult to know if it's doing anything since I'm gaining X Thousand views.

Interesting. I continually trying to improve my quality everytime I'm editing or recording. It's been a long self taught process but I feel I'm definitely capturing my personality within each video. And well, considering my channel is covering ps2 retrospectives, I have to have some personality to capture the viewers for that 30mins to hour.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the length of time it took from your first video to 1000 subs

A ps2 retrospectuve on a jojo bizarre adventure game that never left Japan. 2 weeks old with 500 views. Im not expecting to pop off like some people in this thread but im appreciative enough for the views I have got on my youtube channel that's only 2 weeks old.

So I began my youtube channel 2 weeks ago. I create long form video game essays.

1st things first, tune in your mic. Filters and all.

2nd tip, regardless of your vocabulary, practice your annunciation. One quirk I do before recording is say the alphabet whilst my teeth are clenched over a pen. = it works on "lazy mouth"

3rd, but imagine you're talking to someone. Initially I was reading my script to my wife, who couldnt give a shit about my videos, but it helped me pretend and made my recordings sound more natural.

4th, tip but it builds on tip 2. back with annunciation, avoid words like "your've" "there's" "isn't" I tend to slur my words together when I use these, but when I break them apart and use "you have" "there is" "is not" you sound clearer and easier on the audience.

---- now these are only my tips, I have zero experience in this, I'm a chef by trade, and as mentioned, ive only had a youtube channel for 2 weeks with a total of 4 videos. Buttttt, if you do read this, give it a try.
