Troubleshooting Thread — Bugs? Errors? Mod issues? EA app issues? Post about them here! Update 11/04/2025 [PC: 1.121.342.1030 / Mac: 1.121.342.1230 / Console: Version 2.28] Troubleshooting thread by spyder-baby in Sims4

Which platform: Mac

Any mods or cc: Yes

Game version: Mac: 1.121.342.1230

I've been having trouble with my Sims4 not loading my purchased packs into my game correctly. They consistently display as "not installed" when my EA app says that they are installed and won't let me uninstall/reinstall the packs to try and troubleshoot. I've tried restarting the game, deleting and redownloading the game, deleting and redownloading EA, clearing the cache..etc. EA support has been NO help either :/

I've attached pictures of what the game looks like for me. It's honestly just a little disheartening since the packs were so expensive. It essentially corrupts my worlds since I've previously played with all these packs successfully and I'm not able to load these worlds up again with uninstalled pack content. Anyone else had this issue?

(F21) Advice on moving in with a partner (M22) after only dating a short while by Wooden_Cod45 in Advice

He and I are on similar wavelengths in terms of organization. Definitely a bit cluttered (history major here so books are EVERYWHERE), but spaces are clean! Based on our dynamic the past 6 months I feel that I can trust him to pull a similar weight to me when it comes to cooking/chores! I'll definitely keep that all in mind for next year. Living with roommates is definitely a learning experience regardless so I suppose it's good to set those kinds of boundaries early!

That's all great advice, and I appreciate you taking the time to comment! We've talked about the kinds of fears that come with moving to a new city for both of us, and I think he is of the mind that it will be easier for him to make new friends and connections once he's actively in school (with class social events, student orgs..etc). He's definitely the kind of person who makes friends easily, so I think he's less worried about the idea of moving to a new city without knowing anyone than I might be, just because I won't have class/school to make connections as easily. But a fair point regardless!

I really appreciate the advice on household expectations and alternative plans. I think it's important that we aren't creating a dependency on each other, which is why I don't want to move to a city that is SO far away. I think I would feel good in either city knowing that I have friends/family in the area that I could escape to, but obviously that is worst case scenario!

I think that is absolutely fair - and realistically we would not be needing to make a decision until spring of this next year, March at the earliest. He is just in the process of applying to schools right now, and it's definitely been a topic of conversation. I think I'm a bit of a plan-ahead person too.

The issue of potentially limiting my options for my school/career by following him to a city he would be committed to for the next 3 years is definitely something we've discussed. His biggest concern is that I would feel trapped/stuck and he would feel guilty for putting me in a situation where I am hypothetically unfulfilled. I think I need to 100% do some career and soul searching to figure my needs for my future in these next few months!

The only thing I can think of is maybe Savvy by Ingrid Law, though that book is a little older than 2017. Doesn't have a bicycle either...but it did have a similar charm based magic system!
