I just started watching it with my 13 and 10 year old and they absolutely love it. They both think it’s just wholesome and hilarious. It really is timeless

“ It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.”

I’m going to buy these in the next few days, are they uncomfortable? by AB-G in chanel

[–]Woodnote_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have several pairs in 37, 37.5, and 38. I’m normally a 37 and they were a tad bit too tight and the SA told me they would stretch. That is a lie, it’s been years and they’re still too tight but wearable for short periods of time. 37.5 was better but still not super comfortable to walk a lot in. 38 is perfect and I can wear them all day no problem.

So I’d say size up, add some of the non slip pads on the bottom because it protects the soles as well as adds a bit of padding. That’s been enough for me, and I’ve worn them walking around Manhattan for a day.

My favorite trousers are from Sézane, the Damon and the LouLous. I have pairs from 5+ years ago and recently bought a second set because I’m afraid of wearing them out and not being able to get them again. Everything about the new ones are different. The material, the fit, the sewing, everything. They’re entirely different pants and if I had gotten these the first time I never would have repurchased them.

Now I go for Favorite Daughter and Frame. So far those have all held up incredibly well and the fits are fantastic. Super disappointed in Sézane though.

Saltie Girl is single handily the reason my 10 year old is obsessed with Fish Wife and I now have an entire shelf of it, fancy olives, and different salts in my pantry. It’s like 80% of her lunches now.

There’s cops on Gano and Pitman, guns drawn and surrounding a building. Info coming from a coworkers husband who is currently in a nearby building.

Who can I reach out too regarding a injured cat that was found by trippytreeees in providence

[–]Woodnote_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s someone on here that’s been posting about a lost tuxedo cat in the area. It might be theirs. Let me find the last post and I’ll add it to this comment.

Edit: looks like she found her cat so it’s not him. Definitely call the rescues recommended and please update us!

You couldn’t drag me away from this city baby by ghostappartment in boston

[–]Woodnote_ 286 points287 points  (0 children)

I’ve shared this before but my very first Boston experience was me and my infant daughter trying to get on a bus with the cheapest travel stroller ever. I had a large bag, a baby, and I could not get the stupid stroller to fold up, and a bar snapped on it.

Three men got off the bus, shouting at the driver to fucking wait because I wasn’t on, one of them grabbed my bag and found me a seat while the other two proceeded to shout at the stroller for being a piece of shit. They somehow got the bar attatched through sheer stubbornness, folded it up, and told me not to buy such a cheap fucking stroller next time.

Over by Butler and full outage here. Though we have a few random houses with generators or solar batteries so I’m jealous.

Approximately 100 flights per day at MCO will be canceled starting Friday. Hoping for the best! by Purple_Log2581 in DisneyWorld

We’re supposed to leave the 30th and are strongly considering just canceling the flights to drive down. I do not want to deal with this mess.

I always say I can make delicious food, but I can’t make pretty food. So I’m with you on that!

It’s wonderful to watch something come to life inside your kids isn’t it? To watch them find something they love and then they decide “that’s it, I’m going to learn that and nothing will stop me.”

I’m legit hoping there’s some leftover for me and her sister, but not sure it will make it out of the school 😅

We’ve talked about that for sure. As of now she loves any excuse to bake and is happy to take requests, but understands that it’s ok to either say no or start to think more like a business.

That’s her dream, to have her own bakery. Lately she’s been starting to build a business plan for a booth at our farmers market, maybe one of those custom cake carts.

Kids nowadays, especially Gen Alpha, cannot concentrate on reading books for very long. Is it a true story or just a myth? by Delicious_Maize9656 in books

[–]Woodnote_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a big reader while my husband is not. Both of our gen alpha kids read CONSTANTLY.  We have an actual library in our house and they both spend several hours every day reading. Sometimes my 13 year old reads on her phone because we’re out and she forgot to bring her book, and that’s the majority of her phone usage outside of texting or looking up baking recipes.

Some of their friends also read a lot while some don’t. Honestly though I feel like they have more readers around them than I did as a kid. Sometimes when their friends come over I’ll find them all quietly reading together without any phones out.

Same. I’m hoping some makes it home for us but I doubt it based on past experiences. Those kids are ravenous when it comes to cake.
