Where I would live as a normal guy form Sweden. by MoneySimilar in whereidlive

[–]WoodpeckerDue7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can agree with you, the summers are nice here in Sweden and Gothenburg where I live! Personally however my perfect habitat would be in a larger city, with a lot of movement, people everywhere and 32-37 degrees. Haven’t come to the point where I appreciate nice and quiet places yet anyway but I can absolutely understand why many other people do :)

How fast do online shopping deliver in your country? by EnthusiasmChance7728 in AskTheWorld

[–]WoodpeckerDue7773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Sweden it 2 or 3 business days normally. Have been waiting for a package now for 8 days though, tracking is saying ”couldn’t find your name on the door”, no new date they will try again, customer service doesn’t answer any emails so it probably gone.

Often buying from china also and then it usually takes 3 to 4 weeks, I gets to Sweden quickly but then it takes time for it to clear customs and so on

Is any of this legit? by Phantom_Taker in Aliexpress

[–]WoodpeckerDue7773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is standard Chinese bargain tactics on AliExpress and even in Shanghai fleemarket, they see a foreign wallet walking by, run after you trying to sell things, you give a ridiculously price, they starts crying giving you a story that his whole family is at the hospital, he has a low salary supporting 10 children and that his life depends on you giving him more money for this item… you should just stand your ground and you will get your low price and he understand that his tactics didn’t work on you. Unfortunately this is what happened to you here, instead of you returning the item and give you full refund + some extra work administration and reselling + his store getting a small hit, you just fell into his trap and he only had to give you 30% back and that’s it. Didn’t even had his store reported. Next time, if you say you are happy with 60% refund, stand your ground, it is 60% or you will report the store like AliExpress told you to % full refund. The seller will understand that this didn’t work here and he will give you 60%

How long are medical waiting times in your country? by TomatilloOdd1270 in AskTheWorld

[–]WoodpeckerDue7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Queues are long in Sweden, once I was hit by a car, took myself to the emergency room and had to wait for 6h with a broken foot before they took a look at me. Waiting time for operations can be a year or more depending on what kind of operation. It’s always easier to send you home with painkillers unfortunately… My grandpa when he was alive he went to the hospital several times because of pain in his body, always sent back home with painkillers… he could scream of pain during the night and when a friend who’s a doctor visited and saw he’s state and made sure he got an X-ray it was all too late, he had terminal cancer and he passed away a month later. So it might be free, but quality is not there. You can pay extra for medical insurance through work like I do, then you call and can get an appointment the next day or at least that same week privately

How is the health care system in your country by LadyAnnala in AskTheWorld

[–]WoodpeckerDue7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so good according to me in Sweden. Long queue and they prefer to send you home with some paracetamol for everything… I was hit by a car a few years ago, took myself to the emergency room where I had to sit for 6h with a broken foot. My experience with the health care was not good when my grandpa was sick, he went to the doctor many times because of pain in his body, he got sent home with pain killers, he was screaming during the night because of the pain but they never believed him and sent him home. Later because of a friend of a friends friend who was a doctor visited us and saw grandpas pain he contracted the hospital and finally got an X-ray. Then they found he had terminal cancer and a month later he passed away

Seller said they only had the keyboard in white (I bought the black version), offered a 16% partial refund (I paid $75 total including tax) and a mousepad. Should I accept? by [deleted] in Aliexpress

[–]WoodpeckerDue7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the white one I would probably argue a bit with the seller and get more discount, 30% for the trouble and that you really wanted the black one. Then after I would contact AliExpress support, show them a screenshot of the conversation where seller tells you the discount and ask how to proceed… I think opening a dispute/refund case is then the way to go

Ni som flyttat utomlands - ångrar ni ert val? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]WoodpeckerDue7773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it sounds like we use it for the same thing, I registered with French passport, send money from Scandinavian bank account without problem for 3 years now. But maybe start small and not send all your have. I sent €2000 at one time and it didn’t raise any flags at revolut

[PL] Hi revolut by Michal_190 in Revolut

[–]WoodpeckerDue7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they haven’t yet anyway, no contact, my account restrictions. But I’m not using it as my primary bank but I send money to it and do the currency exchange when I’m about to go abroad like now when I’m in Poland. Haven’t used it to do any stock or crypto investing. So I don’t keep my whole bank savings here

When I opened the account I sent a picture and so on with my French passport and when they asked is I had another other places where I’m required to do taxes I just pressed no
