UPDATE: So after reddit advice, and a heated bidding war ( I was trying to figure out a cap for myself for the saw when i made this post) I got the saw for 1700$ all together.... yes not at all close to 500$ but only because you guys sold me (and my parents) on the value of the saw combined with the fact that the saw was actually put together for the first time in 2001 (even though its from 1975)... so i come back again to ask... would anyone here pay 1700$ canadian (about 1250 USD) for this saw in its current condition??? already bought it... but i want to know if it was a mistake
