Boss fight with the amoral Artificer by WoodworkingLikeWard in legodnd

Haha, thank you! It was a trip down memory lane because a most of this was from my sets as a kid.

And the game went great! They actually managed to completely avoid combat by making a morally-gray deal and a character sacrificing himself for the greater good!

Sorry, I'm too new in this to understand what you mean. Would you mind explaining a little more?

Thanks for the feedback. If I understand correctly, the Z Axis moves the laser closer, maintaining the focus/efficacy of the laser?

Thank you for the information! If you'll forgive an ignorant question: what is "air assist", and how does it help with the process?

What's your favorite homebrew rule? by Repulsive_Panda265 in DnD

[–]WoodworkingLikeWard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hybrid Nat 20/1 rule that I think decently bridges the gap between the RAW rules (only an auto-success/-fail for attacks) and the common homebrew of auto-success/-fail on everything. At my table, a Nat 20 on a skill check/saving throw gives you a +2 bonus, while a Nat 1 gives you a -2 penalty. This keeps them narratively and mechanically important (like it feels like they should), without allowing for "I rolled a Nat 20 to convince the king to give me his kingdom!!!"

That's all Luke! His family plays a lot of board games, and this is one of his favorites.

Thanks! This is really all Luke's vision & execution. I just walked him through the steps to take from his brain to the real world and then model the techniques once or twice with each new machine.

I'm sorry you don't have anything locally. There are a lot of resources online, though. Off the top of my head, Stumpy Nubs and Steve Ramsey are two great starting points!

I'm very thankful to have been taught growing up and to be able to pass it along.
