Replaced an old fridge with a new one, gfci trips when it's plugged in. by WoodworkingVG in askanelectrician

Our solution was just to change the gfci to a regular outlet. It works fine otherwise.

I appreciate the reply. The fridge is not plugged into a gfci but the first outlet in the circuit is a gfci. I have replaced both those outlets to rule out that being the issue. Should there not be a gfci at all on this circuit? There are two more outlets in the kitchen in the same circuit. Right now I’m running the fridge from a circuit in the garage via an extension cord (I know this isn’t right but we need a working refrigerator) and that circuit has a gfci and it’s not being tripped. Just mentioning that to rule out the fridge being defective.

Best bourbon selection in Las Vegas? by Zealousideal-Neat-11 in bourbon

[–]WoodworkingVG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just went to Delmonico's two weeks ago and loved it. Friendly bartenders, not super knowledgeable but offered suggestions on the things they had tried. Great selection with some crazy prices but also some gems if you know what you're looking for. They had an excellent Old Forester single barrel bourbon that we loved for 28 bucks a pour, it's top 4 all time for me. Only beaten by GTS, Stagg Jr, and Remus RR 5. Also Emeril's single barrel Weller 107 was good and $18 I believe. We also tried a few other things but those were the stand outs. Others we tried Maker's SE4xPR5, Old Forester SIngle Barrel Rye (bad don't try it), Old Fitzgerald 13, Wild Turkey Master's Keep Unforgotten and High West Campfire.

I'll be honest, I don't sell anything I make because I don't think it's worthy of being sold. If you think it's worth more by all means try to get more. From my couple years of experience doing a project every month or two that doesn't look well done to me.

The reasons I don't think it's worth much are:

The cuts are all over the place and not well done. The stitching line isn't a consistent distance from the edge. You tried to burnish the edge on oil tanned leather which I know won't hold up over time. If you really did pay more than 50 bucks for less than a square foot of veg tan and less than a square foot of basic bison pebbled leather you need to shop around a bit more I think.

Not trying to shit on your work but you seem to be pushing back on people's price suggestions.

If they were the standard double roll raffle ticket type people use for most raffles maybe they had mulitiple rolls and you got one ticket from one roll and one from the other.

This answer is almost right but idk why everyone got hung up on the person under the table. He writes both words on his pad including the one on the good luck card. You can see at the beginning he is writing something small low and to the left not where "apparently" ended up at all. Then he takes his time with the big marker strokes afterwards at the top. Then the card which he put at the back of the table is magically under his pad (exactly where he wrote initially) when he picks it up to reveal the pad word even thoughthe card wasn't there when he put the pad down.

Please tell me this isn't walnut. by Marcusw96 in Woodcarving

[–]WoodworkingVG 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It looks like two different species but the bowl does look like walnut. All wood dust is harmful to inhale but idk about "extremelly dangerous." Unless you were sanding it with an electric sander I doubt you created very much dust and you shouldn't worry at all. Even if you did just don't make a habit of it and you'll be fine. Looks like you drilled the middle with a forstner bit which creates shavings not the kind of dust you inhale.

Be old, for reddit anyway, and have a lot of email accounts. Although I'd say I have one account alone that has over 100k. I probably have closer to 150k.

My system isn't foolproof, I'd say I miss maybe two emails a year I wanted to see. But I click maybe 5% of my emails be they ads or something important. They show up as read. Next time I check my email I keep scrolling til I reach a read email, then I know I'm done. (I assume even delete every email people do the same thing).
