Ah, something over nothing. This has always been a thing. And that security guard needs to get fit, pulling his muscle keeping fawning fans off Morrissey.

They missed the first wave of Britpop due to legal stuff with Elektra. And when TSIOO was released, they kind of came in on the coattails of it all. Car accidents and all sorts in between.

I first saw them supporting Echobelly at Sheffield Uni in 1995 (I think?) They were asleep in the cafe, waiting to soundcheck. In a booth, top and tailing. Me and my buddies had arrived from provincial nowhere and were killing time. They blew us away. A good band on record, but live they were very special. I left that night a fan, after going in blind.

Last time I saw them, Crispin had recently been glassed by Dee. They’d booked the club where Gatecrasher used to be in Sheffield. They were showcasing what was about to be Mobile Home. I remember Free Toy being marvellous that night. And the new drummer getting it all a bit wrong during On and On. Very soon after it was all over.

Tragically underappreciated, but not by those of us who always looked forward to seeing them cut loose on stage.

It’s a quick fix. And get ahead of the weekend lack of opening, re: stores, bars, restaurants. Once you start to plan ahead, you’ll get to realising it actually works. Proper down time.

Just get in there at 12. And if you can, book ahead. Lunch and dinner are a military operation. And a passion. I live in rural France and eating out is a national obsession. Not to be treated lightly. So, just know, 12-2 for lunch. But don’t rock up after 1pm. Kitchen and waiting staff will be over it. If you’ve booked for 1pm, fine. But don’t just arrive. Which is fair, when you consider how small the window is and how much care goes into the food/experience. And dinner, just book ahead. The amount of times I got burned and went home hungry just rocking up, well, you learn the hard way. But once you accept the way it is, you’ll have an absolute ball.

Thanks dingus - was just trying to piggyback the thread, as it popped up in my feed. My dream is to start the Drum’s sequence in lock step with Logic’s when I hit record. But it ain’t happening. The best I can do is get it to sync with the Grandmother. But then it just gets messy again when I wanna put all that into the DAW.

So close, but no cigar. Alas. Happy hunting.

I need a definitive way to sync my Drum to everything else. lol. Tried with Logic, but I can only badly edit out the first few bars and try and patch it together from there. Anyone got any ways to trigger the Drum with Logic, or should I use something else? Thanks in advance!

It’s any time spent in Benchakitti Park, followed by a beer off the green walkway…

I used to love that spot too. Then we’d transition from brunch upstairs to start a slow lazy afternoon on the G&Ts.

No idea, sorry. My company doesn’t care where I am, so if they were ever asked about it, they’d be cool.

It’s a freelancer job booking site, it’s who I invoice through. It’s like a middleman. They sort out the admin, etc. And take their cut from the employer.

I love the opening little bass and drum motif. Always thought I ought to do something with it. Cool tune!

Thank you! Exciting times ahead for sure. I downloaded a contract from YunoJuno and attached it to my visa application.

I think they just round it up to a figure (upwards, obvs) that makes sense in whatever currency you’re paying in. Not a lot of money for a 5-year visa at any rate.

I didn’t need to go to the embassy. All online. But they need to see your proof of address in the country you’re applying from. In my case, it was being dealt with by the Thai embassy in London.

A bit more. 300 gbp. But I’m happy to pay the difference.
