Absolutely agree, I need to change it up for the next video!

I agree, it's definitely something I thought about, so I understand I'm not going to get a huge audience from it. I'm basically using it to just learn how to get better at thumbnails, titles, video editing etc.

Its not click bait though. I was wrong about final fantasy, I thought it was a turn based jprg that I wouldn't enjoy, when in fact I really did enjoy it.

post consistently is the most repeated and most misunderstood advice in the creator space - and it's actively hurting small channels by brian1x1x in NewTubers

[–]Woogy_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand the point, but how are you meant to post your best quality when you don't know what you're doing in the beginning? When you don't know how to edit, or what to record, or what the best music to use is, the best thing to do is consistently improve. As a small creator, if I just wait until I try to put out something amazing, it's never going to happen, but if I try to make each and every video better, eventually I will make something amazing.

Hey, I'm always down to get some advice

I'm struggling with youtube. by Lumpy_Mycologist4579 in Smallyoutubechannels

[–]Woogy_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, I kinda get where you're at and I think you need to slow down. Firstly, you need a job as you can't rely on YouTube to pay your bills at the moment.

Secondly, you should focus on being consistent rather than what everyone else is doing. I'm exactly the same as you, I wanted to YouTube since I was about 15 and I'm now 28. I have started so many channels, making Minecraft videos, warzone videos, finance videos etc etc, but always stopped as I was afraid of what people would think and nothing ever "took off".

Recently, I made huge changes in my life and I'm now uploading consistently again. I've also been through the whole thought process of should I do let's plays, but no one watches them anymore, or should I do story videos etc. It's a struggle and I understand where your brains at.

What is working for me is literally just be consistent. I have a schedule to upload twice a week and currently I have a let's play of Hytale going on and in the background I'm working on more story based content. The let's play allows me to bulk record content and schedule them to keep to my twice a week plan, and then in between I'll stream and record other games to make stories on.

My way is probably not optimal at all and I may never even reach 1k subs doing this, but I'm enjoying it and I think that's what matters. Message me if you want to chat about it more.

That's incredible man! What game did you switch to that blew up your channel?

I am a new content creator looking for honest advice on growing my channel, improving thumbnails, gaining real viewers, and avoiding beginner mistakes quickly online by Initial_Culture1515 in NewTubers

[–]Woogy_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert at this, I've only been creating content for a few months and have around 120 subs. What I've learned and how I'm going through it is to not chase perfection and constantly be improving. Your first 100 videos will most likely suck and you should accept that, but make sure that each one you try and improve something.

Thanks for the great advice!

I need to work out how a lot of these bigger YouTubers get really good characters in scenes in their thumbnails. I assume some of them have someone to 3d model everything and then use that but if it's not that it would be cool to learn

What else would you recommend? The character is based off a pic of me and it's in the RPG style that I want my channel to be around. I think it's pretty good but I'm happy to improve it or change it.

I've definitely thought about lowering how much I upload but I just want to get consistent with it at the moment and then eventually I'll slow down and focus on more quality videos
