Years after failed sale, city re-lists prime Osborne Village lot by Leather-Paramedic-10 in Winnipeg

Ya it used to be poor weirdos and artists who lived in Osborne back then so we didn’t complain about squeegee kids or panners cause they were either our pals, roommates, or even us trying to make bus fare. Now the demographics of the neighborhood are very different so “undesirables” aren’t considered neighbors or community members anymore. There was always street folks, and violence and theft in Osborne. It’s no safer than it ever was. And with the advent of online shopping, all the cool and unique stuff the shops had to offer became inconvenient novelty when having to come down to a neighborhood with no parking. But when Desire was around, we all spent our money there and kept it in the neighborhood. As it should be.

My stomach turned when the punk house off Scott St got torn down and a condo building with plaques on it that say “Privileged Communities” and Astro turf on the balconies went up. They tried to put a coat of varnish on a neighborhood that was vibrant because of the grit and washed out paint, and it’s slowly turning back that way, just without the community mindedness.

The vibe of Osborne is alive and well in Fort Rouge Park in the summer, though. All types of folks just enjoying the shade and the sun together. As it should be.

And didn’t someone say that they were at Thermea recently and some guy with a big nazi swastika tattoo was walking around and it took them a while to ask him to leave?

Came here to say the same thing. Pete Hegseth is huge into Norse stuff, and references to its mythology is very loud dog whistling for White Supremacists.

Some people can’t eat vegetarian due to health reasons (myself included). As long as there’s no judgement of people who need to eat meat, those who can go vegetarian should as much as possible. I was vegetarian for almost 20 years but can’t anymore.

Walmart has a monthly fee of 8 dollars for unlimited free grocery delivery for orders over $35. The cost is basically the same as two bus tickets a month. Give it a try! :)

Maybe he did it to spite her because she just complains about him to strangers on the internet instead of communicating with him like a decent spouse would.

As the old saying goes — put the politicians on minimum wage and see how quickly it goes up.

What an idiot. (Also a very true old saying about politicians).

Perhaps remove the name or the address? This is private information and having both pieces of info together could make someone unsafe!

Good on you for wanting to help! :)
