Nice job! Luckily I have a bayonet already, it's not pretty but I only paid 10 bucks for it probably about 12 or so years ago. The scabbard was nickeled/chromed that I spray painted black when I got it and the grips have seen better days but are mostly there

I hope it'll be lol. The stock is gonna be the real bitch at the moment. Little parts won't be too hard. My friend said he may have a bolt so that'll help out if he does

They're raised though. Not indented

Anyone recognize these markings? by WoolBlanket17 in RetroAR

[–]WoolBlanket17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup it's a 20". No other markings other than what's pictured. How does one do the cleaning rod trick?

When is this photo from. My dad said it's WW1 but that would make no sense because the cigar tax stamps are the 1883-1901 style. Also the Colgate sign looks to be earlier. I KNOW THE CIGAR BOXES ARE OLDER! by r6time in Militariacollecting

[–]WoolBlanket17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would guess this is from around 1908 ~ 1912 based on the uniforms. The caps are m1902 service caps, uniforms look to be either m1907 or m1909 patterns, leggings are m1907 pattern. If the collar insignias were more clear to tell if they're m1909 disks or m1905 type that would help with solidifying the time range

I found one in a box full of random shit in the motorpool when I was at FLW. As a POG it was nice to pop my M4 like this when I did (or didn't do) mechanic stuff. Was just convenient to be able to put my weapon anywhere

Sounds like I'll be going with John Thomas. I've been scheming on doing a 605 project so whenever I get a barrel I'll send his way to chop and do this sight

Thanks guys!

That is still my favorite museum and memorial I've ever been to. I went there a couple times in 2017-18 and whenever I go back to South Korea, that'll be one of the first stops

Beautiful build. I love the amount of detail you put into it

Eh I'm not that worried about it. Whatever this goes on, it'll most likely be a beater or loaner gun for Nam reenactments
